    Average age of Vikes

I saw this on another site and thought it was interesting. The average age of the Vikings team is 25.77 years. That takes into account ALL players on the squad including the "older" players of Pat Williams, Sharper, Tony Richardson and Longwell who are all over 30 years of age.
Birk and Kleinsasser are both 30.
This figure was arrived at using ESPN's list of players including all draft choices.
That seems really young to me. I wonder how other teams compare?

I think it's safe to say that we're at the young end of rosters.

I remember reading about it. There are only those very few veteran players, on an otherwise young rosters. That is why we can have high hope for the future.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

I never realized that we were a young team...

If BJ was still with us that average would be high in the 30's ;D

If our line and receivers played like they were supposed to last year, we'd be happy to have Johnson back.

Anyway, having a young roster with some VERY good veterans is pretty much the perfect mix, in my mind.
Williams, Sharper, Birk and company all offer tremendous experience and knowledge that can be shared with the younger guys.
    The
younger guys will have the enthusiasm and motivation...the excitement, that often infects the rest of the people.
It's a great work dynamic that I've experienced first hand, just in a different type of work.

Holy crap. That is young. My question is what percentage of them is signed to more then four years?

Coj, I think you should figure out the average age for every team.

    Re: Average age of Vikes

Anyone still out there who doesn't believe or want to admit we are rebuilding and are entering the second year of it?
    :

Bet we have alot of close games just like we did last year.
If we are in it at the end of the year, can you say "Coach of the Year" nomination for the Old Chiller?
    ;D

Big if, however, think about it........

We are in the NFC North.
    We have solid lines.
We have a pretty solid running game.

If he can make the young QB somewhat effective with a under-rated WR corp in a weak conf I can see it happening, even without my purple glasses on.

Can I get a "Gooooooo Chiller"?

We are in the NFC North, but the schedule is not going to make it easy on him. We drew the NFC East and the AFC West. Out of that only Oakland will be a team we should easily beat. So any success at all will be hard fought, especially with a young.inexperienced team who has yet to come together.

That being said, every team changes every year and it wouldn't be a surprise to see some of the teams that were good or average last year to fall back and give us a few more chances to put a "W" in the books.

well a 53 man roster with 6 guys over 30. yeah this is a young club just needing a couple of pieces to this puzzle to really help get them in to serious contention.
Right O-Line, Defensive Tackle lacking in depth.
