George Sipple, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions WR Mike Williams has been dropped to a third-string wide receiver in the team's first depth chart headed into the preseason opener Friday, Aug. 11.

and people thought williams would be a better pick than williamson. I would not put all the blame on him, coaching styles sometimes dont match with the players ability.

I was glad that they didn't pick williams.... you can teach someone that has the drive, but hasn't mastered the skills..... but you can't teach comeone to have the drive, even though they may have the skills. I personally think it is a lack of motivation.... HEck he was having weight problems BEFORE he got paid a ton of money. A WR with weight issues is a bad thing... I bet he gets cut, puts on 30 pounds....learns to block ... and ends up being a TE some day.

Williams could have been a great WR, and he still can if he gts the hell out of Detroit. When Tice was our coach, the only solace I could take was that the coaching staff in Detroit was more dysfunctional than ours.

As rough around the edges Tice was as a coach, he was a great drafter...

Serves the lions right for drafting an overrated WR who had to take a year off of football before entering the draft.

You can thank Scott Studwell and Rob Brezyniski (sp) more than Tice for our past draft picks.

Surprising though...I had heard that Rogers was quickly moving up the depth chart and looking very good in camp. Williams is a bum, of course. Who's their #1 and #2 now?

didnt they have Roy williams and Rogers as their #1 and #2, and was mike williams always #3? thats how i thought it worked out anywyas, dont pay much attention to the kitties.
