With two rookies at guard and an inexperienced center, the Green Bay Packers' coaching staff has its hands full getting the offensive line ready for the upcoming season.

Adding to the challenge is the absence of starting left tackle Chad Clifton, who has missed the last four practices after aggravating his injured right knee during Sunday night's practice.

With Clifton out, right tackle Mark Tauscher is the only experienced player working with the first-team line.

Clifton had arthroscopic knee surgery during the offseason, which kept him out of both minicamps and June's organized team activities. While he was cleared to practice at the beginning of training camp, he has participated in only three of the eight workouts.

"He's day-to-day" coach Mike McCarthy said. "We're just being smart with him. (Are we) concerned or worried? Injuries are just part of the game."

Offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski said he's confident Clifton won't miss an extended period of time.

"Cliffy will be there," Jagodzinski said. "Don't worry about that. He'll be there."

With Clifton out and Adrian Klemm on injured reserve, Will Whitticker has been working at left tackle with the first team. Undrafted free agent Josh Bourke has been working with the second team.

I guess it doesn't really matter if he is in there or not, either way their O-Line is going to be horrible this season.. Hope Favre stayed in shape, he will be doing alot of running..

Better knock on wood. Injuries could easily desimate our line as well....

Even his own teammates must be laughing at that quote! Ok....so...over or under 29 INT's this year?
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

I reckon the team will be running a book on how many INTs he throws this season.
Two rookie guards and an inexperienced center in front of Favre... our DL will be licking their chops at the prospect of playing the Packers this year. Maybe Favre should get some endorsements from Nike, Reebok or another running shoe manufacturer.
Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...
