Pennington to start against the Vikes

I'm excited for this game. A few years ago Moss said that Pennington has the best touch in his passes of any QB....yes, it was Randy and you never know if he means what he says. Anyway, a lot of eyes will be on Pennington and he will be owned by our new D.

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets head coach Herman Edwards said QB Chad Pennington (shoulder) will make his first start of the preseason Friday, Aug. 19, against the Minnesota Vikings. Edwards would not put a snap count on Pennington's debut, but said his starters will play into the second quarter.

He is recovering from a shoulder injury though so if he does play it won't be for very long.

It won't make a difference. Our entire d-line will break his neck on the first play of the game.

I believe Moss also said Kerry collins was a better overall QB then Daunte. :lol:

From the sounds of it, NY fans are very worried about his arm strength. The Jets brought in Mike Himerdinger(SP?) to be their O coordinator this offseason and he is a verticle passing type of guy. The Jets wanted to be more of a verticle passing team, since they were so boring and relied on the dink and dunk method before. I just don't know if Pennington has the arm to be successful in the Dinger's new system, and a lot of Jets fans seem to be wondering the same thing, from what I am hearing. This should be something interesting to watch on Friday, although I am sure Chad will play 2 series and they will run the ball most of the time, so we probably won't see much from him.

I'd like to see Erasmus get a chance to play with the #1 D and introduce himself to Chad before he exits the game. :grin:

If Chad gets canned on the first pass attempt, you can bet your parents that Herm will get him out. I don't want to see anyone get hurt but, whats a little massage and then a nice turf salad for Chad.... skol D line.
