Garafolo received the following statement from Cutler: "I don't know if retirement is the right word; I don't feel that anyone ever really retires from the NFL. You are either forced to leave, or you lose the desire to do what's required to keep going. I'm in between those situations at this point in my life.

Really going into broadcasting is a shock here. As really thought he despised the media. And now he is going to be one of them!

I can't imagine him being worth a damn ... but the spots need filled and ex-players do bring insight.

No doubt if he had a sure starting job somewhere, he would be playing football ... but now he has to do what he has to do. Too young to just lay around.

I will admit, I was always impressed with his ability to sling it...eerily similar to the lure of Jeff George throwing the ball. But, I have ZERO desire to listen to his analysis or commentary. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised by him on the air...because I watch NFL nonstop when it's on.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

    Seems you got it!

Oh ... and when I was saying, he doesn't want to retire, he just wants to be sure he is starting ... looks pretty dead on right now?
