Thread: We Suck

  1. That was turrible

  2. I don't think Zim should of called that time out, at the end of the game, to let the Bills settle down and figure out exactly what play they wanted to run. But maybe he saw something that concerned him.

And this came down to the offensive squandering scoring opportunities. The D gave up that last drive, badly, but had done pretty well all game long. If we had even just one more field goal we win. And speaking of which this team needs to learn how to score those things called touchdowns.

what the fuck is a touchdown? Im sorry im a Vikings fan I have no clue what that is. Dont you just run draws on 3rd and 21 then kick field goals? I thought thats how the game works

They are really cool! It's like, you have to get the ball across that last line into that thing called the endzone. You get six whole points for that and then, and this is so cool, you get to try for one more by doing a kick that players make like 98 percent of the time.
Also you aren't supposed to have 3rd and 20 all damn day long!
Ha! Well losing sucks but we might as well be sarcastic bastards about it so we can still have a little bit of fun.

  5. The thing is the offensive line played a lot better this week. Kahlil gave up a sack to Mario Williams but Williams is a pro bowl pass rushing specialist. Overall the offensive line did a ok job. McKinnon had a 5.3 yard per carry average. That's a good sign of the offensive line blocking well.

I'm more concerned again with Patterson not being able to get open. He is suppose to be our #1 receiver and he had 2 catches for 9 yards. His touchdown came in a catch behind the line of scrimmage. He is not getting open. Right now Jarius Wright should be starting over Patterson. I'm seriously starting to be concerned if he'll be able to be the receiver he was projected to be.

  6. Well I didn't expect them to win more than 8 at the beginning of the year and with all the off the field stuff and injuries on the offensive side of the ball I just know how a rational fan can be so upset.

It sucks losing but and we should have won today no doubt but really guys

    #1 QB - out
    #1 RB(best in the league) - out
    #1 Olineman - out
    #1 TE - out
    Early in the game lose
    #1 Center
    #2 guard

And starting a rookie QB and rookie RB. They have played two really good defenses the past two weeks and Teddy needs time to grow. McKinnon looked very good today against the top run defense in the league and Jennings may have woke up.

The D gave up that drive and they shouldn't have but they are vastly improved from last year.

Second youngest team in the league learning new schemes on O and D.

I would try to keep things in perspective. By the end of the year we will be a much improved team, Teddy will have 10+ games under his belt and we will be looking at a top 10 pick in the draft to help us build.

  7. I'm confused about the title of this thread. Do the members of ppo suck or do the Vikings suck? None of us were on the field today, but the team is awful. When they can't beat a team they should beat they do suck.

good post, I am in complete agreement. I would only add that, even though the win/loss isn't where we all want it, this is an improved team…with an improved coaching staff.

I LOVE the fact that Zimm challenges the players to do their job real time. The loss today was not a resnflult of bad coaching, rather, the loss was the result of poor execution by the players. The obvious game plan was executed well, yes, touchdowns are always ideal…duh, but, we were playing the #1 run defense in the NFL. The makeshift line did well to lead the way to 150+ rushing yards.

That said…Greenway, you know it, a veteran allowed a 4th and 20 conversion. Once that happened, those of us that have live through the Hail Mary, the Cardinals TD to deny the playoff berth, Darrin Nelson's dropped pass in the NFC Championship game, 1998, 2009, the lost Super Bowls.

If Teddy is a good one, with the nucleus we have…there's a chance. If not, we don't.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As a matter of fact, I do know

I agree with a lot of what you posted but the reason why we are upset is we are tired of having to watch a crappy team year after year. Don't get me wrong. I get it. It is just a game and living vicariously through your big business "team" should really just be strictly entertainment. There truly are far more important things in life.
Now only one team gets to win the Super Bowl every year, out of 32, so its a hard title to get, but there are currently 13 teams who have never won a game in the Super Bowl era. That puts the Vikes in the lower third of the league in regards to that statistic. At least we got there 4 times. Some teams, including the Browns and the Lions, have never even had the opportunity to lose one.
The Vikings won the NFL championship in 1969, against the aforementioned Browns, the year prior to the merging of the AFL and the NFL. But I was like 4 months old at the time. Maybe some of the older guys here can chime in on that and, regardless, it wasn't a "Super Bowl." I would be curious to hear how it felt back then and whether it had as much significance as an official Super Bowl win.
Anyway. Wouldn't it just be fun to have a competitive team again and maybe take the championship? Stupid question right? I've said this a million times, to people around me and here on these boards, but if the Vikings could just get one title I think I could retire from watching football. Do other things on Sundays. I'd still enjoy it but it wouldn't matter so much.
Weird huh? Just a game and just a team but when you were baptized in it when your age was in the single digits its hard to let it go. I bleed purple.
But Purp1one, you are right, there is always next year, and maybe that will be the one. And, if it isn't, there is the one after that, and the one after that, and maybe it will happen before I die.

I hate to lose as well but as long as the team improves by the end of the season we are on schedule. The defense has already improved there is no question.

Offensively you take away from any team what we have lost and I highly doubt they would do any better.

Like I said, I didn't expect to win this year and just wanted to see the direction that Zimmer has for the team and to improve. I like what I see on the defensive side of the ball. And I am giving a pass to the O for the situation they have been put in. Still need more pieces and experience and that will be accomplished.

It sucks to lose but .....
