Cutler was to be the Vikes QB...but Chicago moved first....only because they knew...that with Cutler's arm and Adrian....domination would take place.
This was a move more so to weaken MN than improve Chicago....(sorry if this has already been mentioned).

On another note.....
Favre....greatest viking to have never worn the purple.....Yuk!

Favre was never a Viking, so that theory is shot in the ass.

My thoughts exactly.

You don't trade draft picks just to "weaken an enemy".
You're goal isn't to beat that one team twice a season.
Its to win as many of the 16 (and hopefully more) as you can.

The Cutler deal was huge. It will hurt us. It doesn't matter why it was done.

I don't agree at all.
Cutler is scattershot at best.
The Bears have no WRs.
And they've crippled their draft for the next couple of seasons.

Good QBs find a way to beat teams with less. Cutler is a good QB.

Based on the first sentence, and Cutler's inability to find a way to beat teams last year with more, I fail to see the conclusion in your second sentence.

Kyle Orton, OTOH, has shown in the past that he does have the ability to beat teams with less.

To even assume that logic will be used is insanity.

First Cutler isn't a consistent QB at this point and is vastly overrated in a weak AFC West; Denver and the NFL needed a hype to replace John Elway.. without Marshall he will have to prove that he can do it on his own with average at best receivers.

Second, the Bears gave up a ransom worth to obtain him, could the Vikings really afford to go three years without a 1st round pick to build core strength on the roster?

Denver will receive Chicago's first- and third-round pick in this year's draft, and Chicago's first-round pick in 2010, along with Orton. The Bears get Cutler and the Broncos' fifth-round pick this year.

Third, Chilly, Wilf and company bought into Favre in the offseason.. the stars were aligning for them to obtain their messiah... that cost no picks.. plus you added Sage that was suppose to remedy the QB situation.

No conspiracy, just a decision based on the fact that the Vikings FO thought they had their solution for this season.. only to sit under the big tent and be treated to the annual "Will He" Circus.

Logic is an antithetical concept and should never be employed in a forum. (Spelling too.)

They were 8-8 and the Broncos D is no where near the Bears. They were one of the worst teams in the league last year on D. Plus IMO he made Marshall and Royal. I am willing to bet he makes a few of those no name WRs on the Bears shine. I fail to see any point in anything you just said.

Considering what the Bears had to give up in order to get Cutler, I could easily see this move hurting them down the road.

Would you rather have a QB and no team

or

a team and no QB?

The Bears aren't finished here, they can be competitive.
I would like to know how they stand with their Cap numbers before saying that the draft picks they gave up are going to doom them.
Even a small number won't doom them.
It is how creative they can get to keep the team talented.

If you believe that Cutler can make their WRs worth more, they have already made the team better at WR by hiring one guy.
If you don't believe that, the bears need to get creative and add some talent.

Just highlighting the thought that Chiller was SO desperate to sign Favre that he threw Jackson and his supposed "QB Situation Fix" Rosenfels under the bus to do it....

...then the bus broke down and he's furiously backpeddaling.

Fire that idiot before he makes it worse.
