Peterson was late for a meeting (http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=2198&elr=KArksLckD8EQDUoaEyqyP4O:DW3ckUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aULPQL7PQLanchO7DiUX)

"Coach Brad Childress said that running back Adrian Peterson was held out of the Vikings’ first two offensive series today because he was late to a team meeting on Saturday."

Obviously making the statement that everyone must be held accountable for their mistakes though not willing to go the same step that the Bengals went to with Chad.

So it was also the leadership committee that decided to give him only 6 carries in the first half? Or even just 17 for the game? What a joke.

Dude we won the game.
Peterson had 80 yards and a td, and Taylor had a heck of a game as well.

If taylor would of played poorly then Peterson would of got the ball alot more i am sure.

Interesting...
There is little accountability on this board, and that seems to be the way many members want it with the Vikings. Hell of a way to run a business, but then today no one wants to be accountable for their actions.
I got to hand it to Peterson and the rest of the team, they backed up Childress. Oh ya, and I'm not seeing anyone complaining because Cedric Griffin did also not start because he was also sat down for the first series of plays for the same infraction.
And, it was the players committee who set the fine, not Childress.

OOPs Singer.
Make it 7 posts now.
;D

Comeon my friend.
Again, the Chiller must go, however, if he does it to one player he must do it to all.
By the way I think that if it was really a disciplanary issue vice a illness issue, this is the second time he has benched AD
for something like this.

Again, Consistency.
Probably why the team is still playing so hard for him.

I'm not upset in the least over the discipline.
Good for you Childress.....you're still a tool and I still want you fired....but good for you.

Agree with you both.
Fun to see a win but really, the system isn't working.
This team was not ready to play this team today.

Good.

No matter who the player is, there must be consequences.

I agree, he's past his prime and just taking up cap space at this point.

No just a moron named Childress and an offensive coordinator who would not even be a coach on the rest of the teams.

LMFAO! I just lost my coffee. I am fine with the action he took but come on 2 series. That is hardly a statement.

I really think that the action was predefined by the leadership committee - probably back in the preseason.
Childress wasn't trying to make any kind of a statement.
