Replace the coach and the whole staff.
Let sharper go he is a shadow of his former self.
Let griffith go, he is horrible.
Please get rid of herrera and cook they both play like crap.
Find a tight end worth a dam.
and last but not least DRAFT A GOOD QUARTERBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Booty might turn out ok.....but we definately need a young guy we can develop (No, Jackson apologists, we've closed that chapter.
Don't bother mentioning him).

The rigidity of the scheme?
Sorry dude this defense works on other teams because the players execute it.
Sharper is slow and never near the receiver when they get by the corner.
And acts like he won the super bowl when he makes a play.
griffith falls for pump fakes constantly.

Sharper is still a big piece of the secondary and an even bigger piece in the defense as a whole. To get rid of him from an already struggling and weak secondary would be absolutely moronic.

Yeah, let's go ahead and make our secondary worse.
::)
Sharper still makes plays (remember, he's a SAFETY) and is great along side Winfield.

What plays has he made?

I am watching the team "fumble" the game away to Detroit, and I am thinking that this is going to be perhaps the best team that does not make the playoffs (I am assuming that either Green Bay or Chicago wins the division, and between the Eagles, Cowboys and Giants, one will obviously win the division and the other two will vie for the available wild card spots). It is hard to figure out where to start with this team, but after spending all that money in free agency, and after investing two years in failed projects the Vikings are really no better than when Mike Tice was the coach. I suspect that the team needs a real "football person" to head to front office (hey, Matt Millen is available); Childress is a "less than successful" experiment at untested head coach (as Jackson was HIS failed experiment at untested rookie QB). I might also suggest that Ziggy is an untested NFL owner (those big dollar free agency picks are starting to look a little frayed around the edges). It is discouraging for Vikings fans (as it has to be for their ownership); this team has stalled, and has been stalled for a long time. This team should NOT be struggling against Detroit, but it shows where things are really at.

Now I'm "Dude"?

Our Defense does not adjust....ever....for any reason.
We are asking players to play outside of their strengths, and it costs us.

Despite your charged opinion, Sharper is still performing at a pretty significant level, and Griffin is growing into his position.

Believe me, I am not one to give players a lot of slack - if you'd been around awhile you'd know that - but neither am I a big fan of knee jerk reactionism.
Most of our Defensive woes are scheme related, not player related.
Frazier needs to get aggressive and let peopel like Griffin rips heads off.
But he keeps everyone in that cover 2 zone all game long without changing things up.
Believe me, that scheme has been around long enough for teams to know how to exploit it....and that's what we see.

I agree but i still feel sharper is alot slower to react then he used to be maybe its age creeping in or maybe its the coordinator, i dont know, But we have been giving up the pass for way too long and its time for some sort of change.

you are an idiot, i'm sorry but you are.
sharper stuck some plays in the backfield
and laid the lick on johnson putting him out of the game
shaincoe did some nice run blocking when he wasn't
forced into that zone blocking kaka del rio
ferrotte threw for 300 before Peterson having that 5 yard
loss on that last pass. that would be the first 300yard passer
since culpepper, if anything u can blame the game on
Peterson coughing the ball up twice when we were driving
and our o-line for getting punked in our own house
learn some fricken football
and yes my grammar is bad
griffith played fricken great by the way
actually played equally well as winfield in this game
had key tackles ending drives for the lions
you my friend dont know a thing about football

If we took care of the football today everyone would be feeling great about going into Chicago. However, Peterson continues to put it on the turf and there are always going to be one or two picks with Frerotte. Had we not turned it over 4 times or whatever we win going away.

But the biggest thing I see is the coaching. We have the worst playcalling in the league and our players rarely look prepared on O. Anytime you have a coach who doesn't know that it does you no good to kick an extra point when it is 10-8 you know you are in trouble.

Bingo.
I was devastated when we kicked the PAT.
We were not exactly lighting up the scoreboard.
Anytime you have chance to tie it in the second half, you go for it IMO.

When we were still losing 10-9 late in the fourth, my blood was boiling.

So yeah, at the end of the season we need to replace the coaching staff and bulk up the O-line talent along with the passing game.

We got another very lucky win.

What I am gathering from this game is Childress even got out coached by the Lions.

Sharper has been virtually invisible this season unless he's giving up a big play.
He seems to be taking bad angles to the ball in both the running and passing game.
He needs to get this rectified fast, or I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench a little more when Madieu gets back.

Things to do after this season.....

Look forward to the new season with high hopes of a run on the SB as Childress gets the boot. How long this optimism lasts once the new season starts is the million dollar question.

Where to begin...

1.
Put a flaming bag of poo on Childress' porch.

2.
Trim my pubes with the Chiller's mustache groomer.

3.
Petition Wilf to sign Cowher to a five year contract.

4.
Sprinkle aforementioned pubes on Bevell's doughnuts.

5.
Brainwash the offensive players to forget everything Childress ever taught them.

6.
Apologize to Tice and see if he'll be our O-Line coach/assistant head coach-offense.

7.
Hire Vegas strippers to be the new Viking cheerleaders.
We must increase team morale.

8.
Reverse the Viking curse by stabbing Joe Buck in the neck.

TP his yard
Sleep with his daughter(does he have a daughter?...and I guess more importantly is she over 18?)

well this seems to be the most obvious problem on both sides of the ball.
people not being used to their strengths, not making adjustments, and then blaming individuals for a scheme based problem.
isn't that what is so frustrating?
different quarters, different games, different years same problems.
the pass game still stinks and we cant stop the pass.
we have what people say is a formula for winning, but the two pass parts have been so bad we can't win consistently.
despite the rips on sharper i have some hope that we are getting better and can get better against the pass. but after playing the saints and lions defenses and still not able to score makes me think that improvement in passing offense is a lost cause.
until of course a new regime comes in, and then we can get optimistic again.
