I think he will fit into Chilly's system better, which, in the end, is what we are going to need if we are going to win with him as our HC this year.
We need a QB that can mold to him.
He is a decent pocket passer, where as TJack got flustered in the pocket.
Gus brings a cool head to the table.

Well, I think it was the right move given the situation we are facing at this point in time... not sure if I think that Gus is going to bring us to the promised land, but he will get us closer than TJack would have.

And I'm excited about that.
I want to see some scoring, I want to see solid play.
I think he gives our receivers a better chance at making a play.
I haven't seen a receiver actually have the chance to run after the ball was caught all year (except once).

GUS GUS GUS!

I'm guessing that after this week we'll be adding him to the "list of QB's that couldn't succeed in Childress' KAO due to lack of talent"

Brad Johnson
Tarvaris Jackson
Brooks Bollinger
Kelly Holcomb
Gus Frerotte?

Gus will lead us to victory this Sunday with his cool head and quick decision making.
I think he is a better leader than TJack.

Well personally I've always liked Gus. Also what I noted pretty obviously during the preseason, even though TJ's results were good, it was amazing to see how much more calm, confident and in control Gus looked when he went in. He might not be a premier quarterback but in today's leage I think youth is overrated, at the QB position you need stability and confidence and veterans bring that. Just look at the cardinals picking Warner over Leinart, and he rewards them with a perfect rating performance. (Of course Gus is no Kurt Warner but just saying, the old guys can get the job done :)).

So for now I say, IN GUS WE TRUST!

Ow and btw, hello PPO :P Been lurking around these forums for quite a while now but finally decided to register and post something.

We're right back where we started when Childress got here... absolutely no development has happend in the past 3 years.

I'm on this bandwagon... but I'm pissed about it.

Since Childress would not let Brad Johnson change plays at the line and wouldn't talk to him, can we expect the same treatment for Gus. I think Childress was forced into the change, and his ego won't like that.

Gus gives us more of a chance to win then Jackson.
I would be willing to bet that Gus can run more plays in the playbook then Jackson.

I like the move but I did like how TJ could scramble. The only difference might be that Gus will find the open man and release before the pocket collapses.

Hopefully Gus isn't too excited or else he might headbutt things.

Chilly might give Gus that authority. I would think Gus is smarter than TJ.

Gus' experience at reading D's is what will give him the right to audible.

Gus has never played for a team as good as the Vikes.

I been watching the analysts and they think the move is smart.
The "?" has been on TJ from the start as few knew what he was going to do.
With Gus you do, he's going to manage the game to balance out a great running attack.
He's going to keep drives alive so the D can rest.

Can Gus get away from the pass rush?
I hope with McKinnie still out that Gus isn't too immobile to get away from the defense.

He is not nearly as mobile as TJack.
But overshadowed in the heartbreaking loss and the QB move is the fact that the OL held up last game.
Freeney didn't get to TJack as much as I thought he would.

Excellent point and very true. The one glaring play that stood out was the blindside fumble hit but no matter what QB is in there, there's nothing they can do about their blindside.

A guy that is not getting enough credit on here is Ryan Cook. He has not stood out nearly as much as he has in the past. Props to him for the last 2 games.
