Rodgers high on Vikings D

One specific Quote I would like to bring up and Brett Favre also talked highly:
On Antoine Winfield: "May be one of the most underrated corners in the league, as far as his toughness and coverage ability."

This has long been discussed with fans here and I've always believed he was solid in coverage and certainly above average. Take it from two pros who study his film at least twice a year.

I hope he likes eating turf and picking grass out of his nose

haha, those are definitely some out of the ordinary comments coming from a rival QB these days, but hey, can't hate the guy for it.

One of my favorite players in the game, hate to say it, but now I can't COMPLETELY hate A-Rod

I think he's just getting ready for an ass wip'n, he's already begun his post game interviews.

Rodgers is gonna be more than high, after Edwards, Allen, Kevin, and Pat give him a nice massage on the way to that turf salad on Lamblow's field.

Just more of the oatmeal comments that NFL players give these days.

Of course Rodgers said nice things.
He doesn't want to provide anything for the Vikies to hate on him for.
For him, the intensity is already high enough, the last thing he wants is a psyched up Viking Defense looking to eat his lunch for him.

No one says anything "real" anymore.
They can't.
Because if they do, and they're wrong, they look stupid.
Or, worse, they tick the other team off so bad that they come in and stomp the mouth who shot it off to the press.

So, instead, everyone spends all their media face time telling the press how wonderful everyone else is, and how much they respect everyone else, and how they really do wish those other guys were on their team, blah blah blah.

It's all BS.
No one has the stones to call it like it is anymore.

which made Jared Allen's comments all the more refreshing

Playing Green Bay on Monday night to start the season – that’s everything you want. Hopefully, I can put my helmet square in the back of [Rodgers'] spine. If I can do that and knock the ball loose, it’ll be a good day.

Aaron will be on his back a little less than Jackson. Kampman will have a field day and have 6 sacks in the first game.

That is why he is saying the nice things about the D, he wants them to go soft on him so the spine thing doesn't really happen.
LOL!

I have to laugh when Viking fans talk up Allen like he's reggie white. Combine all of the third and fourth quarters that Allen has played in, he has 3 second half sacks in his entire career.

But, then again, disappearing in the second half is vintage vikes...

The page has turned and you better hold tight to those memories of reggie because he brought you the only joy you will have for the next 30 years.

Reggie White?
Who brought him up?
Why would we want Allen to be anything like White?
When White was with Philly he was averaging 15.5 sacks per season.
Once he got to Green Bay, his average dropped to 11.4 per season.
And in his last few seasons he only came in on 3rd down.

No thanks, no comparrisons to White just yet.
Allen's career isn't on the brink of being over.
Allen's only in his 5th season.
He's got a LONG way to go before he's a "has been".

As for disappearing in the second half....how is that "vintage vikes"?
In the past 10 years, I haven't been overwhelmed with the success coming from Green Bay - in either half.

He has three second half sacks in his entire career?
Really?
Boy those guys at nfl.com are WAY off then, since they seem to think that he has 17.5 second half sacks in his career.

When you grow up and enter the real world you will find that you should
at least make an effort to find real facts.
I took me about ten seconds to find his true stats.
Then again, based on your posts so far, you seem to live in a fantasy world, so I guess that made up stats are good enough.

LOL....those are his 2007 stats.

He had another 3.5 in 06, 7 in 05, and 4 in 04.

So his TOTAL second half sacks would actually be 17.5.
And with 43 career sacks, that means that @ 41% of his sacks are in the second half.

I think that some comments produced by players can be very vanilla and of course Rodgers doesn't want to create any real Headlines like you said. In the case of the Vikings I feel Rodgers is very honest in his assessment as I think we have the best Defense in the league. As far as us eating him for lunch well thats gonna happen anyways.

I still think what he said was "Real". Aron Rodgers knows what he's up against and as a Viking fan I can tell you his battle will not be easy and he recognizes this. I also want to add he commented on two of best DB's in the game which currently recide on our team. Nobody has made more plays then Sharper, and Winfield, well Winfields a beast and this is probably the first time in his carear that he's had the opportunity to play with "real" pass rush. Rodgers could have easily went on and talked about EJ, Kevin, Pat, Allen, ect...

If your right Caine we will know, but in this case I think your wrong and I beleive Rodgers comments are Real.

And Birk, and Kleiny.
Its going to be an interesting off season next go around!

Jared Allen cracks me up!

Seriously, I am so freakin stoked for football!!!
I can't wait to see the Four Norsmen back in action!!!
And, their C is out, one OG out, moving the other OG to C, Grant isn't practicing either.

Nice, all it took was a few minutes here on PP.Org to erase any sort of silly 2nd Half Rumors. Bottom line there's gonna be some fans out there that try to downplay such a genious move, but in the end they will be dealing with stats similair to whats above.

Sharpers contract is up for sure, Benny Sapp and maybe Gordon who could get one mid-season. Winfields got 2 years on his. Kliensasser will be an intristing move but I think Dugan could be ready for that role, plus he's always made some good catches got a very nice contract extention while back. IMO Sullivan will play next year if he don't have to this year. Draft is always a great time it will fun to see how we can bloster our already good roster.

Allen is commical I think he brings alot of energy/enthusiasm and its somewhat infectous so to speak. Not only are we going to spend some time in the backfield scoring points is never gonna look easier.

It's just so amusing when simple minded pucker fans jump into this site and start spouting bs. I mean, it's bad enough that they can't get their facts straight.
Then you have dolts like 'Ihatevikings' trying to say we are cocky, and only see things through purple shades.
:o LoL Who gave these idiots permission to get on the internet? When reality sets in on Monday night, they are going to feel like a camp chair with Pat Williams sitting on them. Monday can't arrive soon enough. So who is the fourth string Qb for the puckers? I'd suggest they make those contingency plans immediately, and have several ambulances ready for their Qbs.
