PP.O name:UffDaVikes
Real name:Denny Jahnz
Age:41
Current City:Lewisville
Hometown:Winnebago
Occupation: I own a Custom Cabinetry business. We do most of our work in the Mankato area. I also serve on the Fire dept, the ambulance and am in the first term as the town's mayor. It keeps me busy.

1) How did you choose your screen name?

I am Norwegian and a lifelong Vikings fan. What the heck else could it be
;D

2) UffDaVikes, could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?

I grew up in a small town called Winnebago in Southern Minnesota. It was a fairly good time as there was always something to do like hunt, fish, blow stuff up etc. Normal ordinary kids stuff. I went to College in Ashland ,Wi where I met my wife. A die hard packers fan. I can't hold it against her because she produced the best son and daughter I could ask for.My son is 8 and likes the Vikings and riding his Dirt Bike on the track behind our house. My daughter is 11 and leans toward that other team in green but she is forgiven because she is at the top of her class academically and is a gifted pianist.

3) What type of student where you in High School? Disruptive but in a funny way. I just made it my job to find new ways to make people laugh.

Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any school clubs and such?

I was a 4 year letterman in Wrestling, played on the football team and was in Band (drums) and choir(lip sync)

4) What did you do after High School?
I enlisted in the Army's DEP my senior year but then I blew out my knee wrestling and the recruiter tried to send me through without informing the army I had my knee reconstructed 4 months before my deployment. It got ugly but I finally got a medical discharge or whatever it was but by then school started. so I worked for a few years, then went to college for Biology but switched right away to Economics/management when I found out how much Biology majors made.

5)What was your first job?

Had a lawn mowing business.

6) When did you decide to be such a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings?

As long as I remember I have been a Vikings fan. No other pro sport in the state interested me and I have stuck through them in thick and thin. Hopefully it gets damn thick again soon.

7) Could you tell us one of your favorite memories that has to do with the Vikings or one of its past or present players, coaches, etc.

I love Defense so my favorite memories were of the Purple People Eaters of the 70's and then probably the Defense of the late 80's with Doleman,Millard, Browner,Studwell and Co.

8}How did you come to find PP.O and what attracted you most to the site?

Looking for info on this new coach that got hired. Childress I think was his name.

9) What other sports teams do you follow? That's it. Otherwise I hunt during any free time.

10) When you’re not on PPO what could you likely be found doing with your spare time?

There isn't much of it but hunting with my son and our Springer Spaniels is probably first.

11) Do you say a special prayer before Vikings games?
No, but I have a few sermons reserved for when they screw up if that is close enough.

12)Where do you watch Vikings games?

In out basement theater room.

13)What is your worst fear?

Deep water. If it wasn't for that I would be a marine biologist right now. I suppose my tan would be better.

14) What type of hobbies do you enjoy?

hunting pheasants with my Springer Spaniels.

15) What’s your favorite food?

Pizza

16) Where are some of the places you’ve been, and where are some of your favorites.

I don't get out much. I went to College in Ashland, Wi and that is as far as I go and that is just to visit the Mother-in- law. I went to Germany in High school. Everything I need is here.

17) What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime?

Go to a bar in Wi and find informed, intelligent people that you can carry on a reasonable conversation with. That and buy a Dune Buggy. You know, like the one in Speed Buggy. Painted purple with big ass metal flakes and a buffed out gel coat to drive around in the summer.

18)If you could live anywhere where would it be?

The other side. The grass is always greener over there.

19) Do you believe the Vikings will have their big day someday? Absolutely.

When they do win the Super Bowl, what will be the first thing you think you will do?

Get really, really drunk. What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime?

20) Up to this date, what is one of your favorite PPO memories?

All of the fun debates about the KAO, The coaches, the QB, the OL etc. It's pretty good fun.

Good deal.

I am more of a rent-a fireman ;D. This is a small town and we don't too many calls. usually a cat stuck in a tree or a car on fire etc. So what I do is really nothing compared to the guys in the big cities that do it for a living. Those guys are amazing.

I do occasionally. With my business being what it is there isn't always time for it but I am planning to go to a few this year.

Interesting read, I'm laughing just thinking about your stump speech for the election.
Jack of all trades, you must have dropped out of school and went on the video game circuit.
