1) How did you choose your screen name?
I am from North Dakota, am a Viking Fan, born in 66.
2) NDVikingFan66, could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?
I was born in Dickinson, ND, but spent tim in Kief, ND, Norwich, ND, and grew up in Granville, ND as a kid.
I am the oldest of 4.
Next in line is a sister, than a brother who is a Vikings Fan, than another brother who is a Chiefs Fan.
I have spent time in the service and was active stateside during the first Gulf War.
Right now I am currently married to a Bears fan with 2 wonderful teenage girls.
One will be attending the University of Mary to play volleyball next year, and the other will be a Freshmen and Fargo Shanley next year.
3) What type of student where you in High School? Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any school clubs and such?
I was an A student and was Valedictorian of my class.
We all excelled in basketball in college.
My sister and I played in college, and she was an Academic All American at Williston Jr College.
I never really lived up to my potential due to many mistakes made.
I also played football for one year until some kid put his helmet into the side of my knee on purpose.
I was also active in many things being it was a small school, but looking back, next to sports, I was glad I went out for drama.
I was good, but liked to drive the director nuts by always pretending to not know my lines until the night before opening.
4) What did you do after High School?
Went to college at Valley City State to play basketball, and made mistakes that put my college path in a tailspin.
Transferred to the University of North Dakota, where I could not get out of the downfall.
Finally joined the Guards and straightened out my life.
5)What was your first job?
Hmmmm…..cutting lawns and blowing snow and things like that as a kid growing up.
6) When did you decide to be such a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings?
This one is easy.
November 13, 1966.
The day I was born.
My dad and his best friend were Vikings Fans.
We spent every Sunday watching the games.
They are both gone now, but I think of them as I watch the games still.
7) Could you tell us one of your favorite memories that has to do with the Vikings or one of its past or present players, coaches, etc.
I had a chance to get the autographs of Matt Blair and Joey Browner and some other Vikings (I have since lost them) when I was a kid and they would travel around and play celebrity basketball games.
Also, watching games with my dad and his best friend (who I sometimes refer to as my other dad)
8}How did you come to find PP.O and what attracted you most to the site?
Stumbled across it somehow, I really don’t remember, but I spent time reading the posts before actually joining.
Some very knowledgeable people posting some insightful stuff here.
9) What other sports teams do you follow?
Twins occasionally.
All college basketball.
Sioux hockey, as well as other Sioux sports.
And any team either of my kids may be on at the time.
Guess that means University of Mary is now on my list.
10) When you’re not on PPO what could you likely be found doing with your spare time?
Working, doing yard work during the summer.
I like to golf and would like to spend more time hunting, fishing, and camping with the family.
11) Do you say a special prayer before Vikings games?
No, but I will on occasion right before kick off make a couple of noises that vaguely resemble the blowing of the Viking horn.
12)Where do you watch Vikings games?
I watch all games on my TV here at home.
All traveling is planned around being able to watch the game, not listen to it on the radio.
13)What is your worst fear?
Losing a loved one, or not having a loved one live up to their potential.
14) What type of hobbies do you enjoy?
Golf, hunting, fishing, camping, playing on computer, playing cards.
15) What’s your favorite food?
I like Italian and Mexican
16) Where are some of the places you’ve been, and where are some of your favorites.
I have not been many places, but we used to live in Oregon, in the dessert country.
I really liked it there.
Spent time in San Diego, El Paso, and Salt Lake City while I was in the service, and though all those places had positives, known of them really excited me all that much.
Also, had a chance to see Pope John Paul II in Winnipeg.
17) What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime?
Take a vacation with my wonderful wife and get away for awhile.
We married while in college, had kids early, and have never really had a honeymoon.
That got cancelled, funny story, but I may reserve that for another time.
Also, I want to attend a tailgate function, and go to the game with PPO.
18)If you could live anywhere where would it be?
My wife hates the cold, so I think we would go south, but not very far to be honest.
She does not want to get to far from her family, so my guess is we would only make it about as far south as like Sioux Falls or the cities or something like that.
19) Do you believe the Vikings will have their big day someday? When they do win the Super Bowl, what will be the first thing you think you will do?
Yes, we will one day win the Super Bowl.
First thing I will do will probably thank the team, look up and wish my dad and his friend were there to share it with me.
20) Up to this date, what is one of your favorite PPO memories?
The people.
What a great group of people, considering I have never met anyone.
