PP.O name: NordicNed
aka
Vikingned
Real name: Ned Lessor
Age: 46
Current City:
New Britain, CT.
Hometown: Hartford, CT.
Occupation:
1) How did you choose your screen name?
I just thought it was fitting and ties into the Vikings of old...
2) NordicNed, could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?
As I stated, I was born in Hartford, CT.
I am the 3rd of four kids my parents raised.
I have an older brother and sister and one younger sister.
My parents I could never say enough about. My Mother passed 3 years ago and I still miss her so much every day. I was and still am, very very close to my parents.
3) What type of student where you in High School? Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any school clubs and such?
School was always up and down with me.
I could and was a very good student at times, then other times I slacked off.
I was liked by my teachers and coaches and I guess you could say I was well known thruout the school.
I really didn't hang out with any certain group of friends, I could be found hanging out with the jocks on minute and the heads another.
I was even friends with the AV Crew members, they looked up to me like a big brother, I was their personal body guard..LOL
Believe it or not, my strongest sport was swimming, I was unbeaten in every town wide match I had swam in for 4 years running.
I played alot of street baseball but never for organzied teams.
I played 6 years of town league football and 4 years of high school football, I was always a lineman on both sides of the ball, but one season in the Pony league, I did play some FB, usually in goal line situations.
I also wrestled for 2 years in Jr. High and 3 in High school...But a bad car accident denied me the chance to wrestle in my senior year.
I was always in choir's and musicals,
I liked singing and acting very much.
I hosted a foreign exchange student from Germany my Senior year.
Thomas Wenz, from Marburg Germany....I was wishing for a big busted blonde when I signed up...... ;D
But it was a great experience having him live and go to school with me for the half year.
4) What did you do after High School?
I joined the US Army and served 5 years, then did a jump and served 2 years with the USMC.
5)What was your first job?
I'll never forget it,
picking tobacco.....
6) When did you decide to be such a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings?
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/cebuned/peeweevikings.jpg
My dad signed me up for the West Hartford,CT
pee wee league,
I was put on the WH Vikings.
Very soon after that, my dad was watching the NY Giants on tv on day and I asked him if there was a Vikings Team in the Pro's,
he looked at me and said YES, the MN Vikings.
Right then and there I said "Thats my Team".
He almost had a strock... I believe that was in 1967
7) Could you tell us one of your favorite memories that has to do with the Vikings or one of its past or present players, coaches, etc.
Man, that is a tough question, I have so many.
But I guess one that will always be a favorite of mine was the first time I was able to see them at a live game.
My friends dad had an extra ticket to the Giants.
It was the Giants VS Vikings in the YALE BOWL
in New Haven, CT.
The medowlands was being built, so the Giants used the Yale Bowl as their home field that season. I think I was in 6th or 7th grade then.
We went to the game and it was snowing really heavy.
Even at that young age, just the sight of Tarkington and the purple people eaters made me have goose bumps.
We won that game also.
Fact is, I've never been to a Vikings game in person that they didn't win.
Just lucky I guess...
8}How did you come to find PP.O and what attracted you most to the site?
I used to subscribe to the Viking Update, but then I finally got a computer, one of the first things I did was I would do alot of searchs on Vikings news and sites.
I came across PPO and just enjoyed it.
But to be honest, I think at the time PPO was just starting itself, I didn't follow it to closely. But I didn't forget about the sight either.
My second time around, I made some friends rather quickly and it just stuck. PPO is by far the best Vikings Fan Site on the Net.
I'm proud to be a member here. So I guess it's the members here who keep me coming back for more.
9) What other sports teams do you follow?
LA Dodgers....Boston Celtics....And I used to follow the Hartford Whalers, till they moved to NC., so
I really don't watch hockey much anymore.
I live next door to the New Britain Rock Cats ( MN Twins Farm Team )
so I like to go watch them sometimes.
UCONN
Football and Basketball
10) When you’re not on PPO what could you likely be found doing with your spare time?
Spending it with my son David and Wife Margie....We enjoy alot of things together. You can also find me caring for my Gamefowl also or working around the house and yard.
11) Do you say a special prayer before Vikings games?
Yes, I pray no one looks in my windows.....
12)Where do you watch Vikings games? I'll go to some local sports bars or another thing is I have had the Direct TV package in the past also.
I missed it last year.
I'll get it again this season for sure.
13)What is your worst fear?
I really don't have any fears, but I do worry about things at times.
Right now I"m worried a little about my upcoming surgery for my back.

But I really enjoyed time I spent in Germany and the Philippines.
17) What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime? I'de really like to see the Vikings go to the Super Bowl again and attend the game.
Visiting Scotland would be nice also.
18)If you could live anywhere where would it be?
I'll be making my house in Cebu home one day.
( Philippines)
19) Do you believe the Vikings will have their big day someday? When they do win the Super Bowl, what will be the first thing you think you will do?
I'm really believing we will, and not to far off in the future.
I like what the Chiller, FO, Coaches, and players are doing. I really see us moving in the right direction.
When we do win the Super Bowl, honestly, I think I'll take a deep breath and say a pray.
I'll actually probably cry, I've been waiting for that moment to happen for 30 years now...
20) Up to this date, what is one of your favorite PPO memories?
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/cebuned/VikingTrip006.jpg
Again I have so many,
but it has to be traveling to MN to visit Singer and attending my first ever Vikings home game at the dome.
I'll never forget how I felt when we reached our seats and they played the National Antheum, I actually had some tears running down my face.
I was very happy !
