Three Vikings Players Have Flu-Like Virus

Associated Press

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Daunte Culpepper was one of three sick players sent home to rest Wednesday by the Minnesota Vikings, but the Pro Bowl quarterback felt well enough to return in the afternoon.

Culpepper, cornerback Antoine Winfield and tight end Jermaine Wiggins - three of Minnesota's most important players - were sent home in the morning to recover from a flu-like virus that has been circulating within the team for the past month.

Coach Mike Tice said Culpepper's condition was the worst, but he joined the team for pre-practice stretching and calisthenics and then watched while backup Gus Frerotte ran the offense.

Tice said Culpepper will play Sunday at Washington. Minnesota (8-7) can clinch a wild-card playoff spot with a win or a loss by either Carolina or St. Louis.

Might be a good thing, remember the last QB that we saw that was sick. Joey H and he had an out of body performance.

DC will go crazy this week. He will run for 100yds and pass for 400yds.

As long as he gets the W for the Vikes this Sunday, he can run for 10 and pass for 40 and I would be happy. :D

It was 10 players that were sent home with the flu, Culpep, Winfield & Wiggins were just some of them.
