According to an anonymous source who spoke with the Newark Star-Ledger, Giants TE Jeremy Shockey told former Giants TE Visanthe Shiancoe "he'd be better off playing for a team that features a receiving tight end in its offense."...

Does not seem that big of a deal to me. I mean obviously Shockey is looking out for No. 1, but he was right ... Visanthe was not going to be getting any catches in N.Y. more than likely (and of course this was before Shockey's big injury). Not that big of a deal that he told someone he considered a friend he should go elsewhere if he was looking to be featured more prominently.

You have to wonder what goes through his mind as he looks at that ring...

Did I earn it?
Was I part of the team that won or did the team get better without me?
I know if I was a DL lining up against him this year I would needle the shit out of him with that little mind game nugget.
;D

Shank will be a bigger part of our offense this year

Like Shiancoe needed Shockey's advice to sign a contract where he would be a starter and getting a significant pay raise.

Why do you expect that? They didn't utilize Wiggins a lot in 2006 or V-Shi in 2007.

Because this year chilly will say "suck it up TJ we're running a real WCO this year" and leave him only his o-line and his legs for protection. ;D

All the time TJ is spending in the offseason watching tape of his missreads (blitz's/hot reciever) will make it so he makes quicker and better decisions with the ball this year.

That will make his OL look better as he gets rid of the ball faster.
Additionally, I look for better play out of OL as they sit and study the same game tape to see how they messed up with thier protections.

Sure hope Birk gets in camp to watch the same tape.

Anyway, all of that will equate to a bit more of the playbook getting opened that will include TE in passing schemes instead of protecting QB's all year but I don't think we will ever see the TE as a big target in this scheme.

At least not to the point that some long for anyway.
;D

Imagine if we could have all 5 skill players running routes and TJ could be the true WCO QB, make quick reads and make people miss.

See i was just creating a nice image. Although I know reality will be much different. That's the difference between you and I. ;D

Funny thing to me is that he may be on his way out of New York now. Seemed to me that the Giants and Eli played better while he was out because they did not have to deal with him crying for the ball.

No doubt Stallion.
Tough choice there.
I can be the most overpaid free agent in the history of the NFL, or I can stay in New York for alot less money.

Hmmm, I wonder what I should do.
