PP.O name: FedjeViking
Real name: Linda J. Guy
Age: 58
Current City: Clearville, PA
Hometown: Laurence Harbor, NJ
Occupation: Disabled, College Student

1) How did you choose your screen name?

My grandfather was raised on the island of Fedje, Norway, and I'm a viking fan. Both football Vikings and the real ones.

2) FedjeViking, could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?

Grew up in Laurence Harbor, NJ. I was an only child. I've married twice(first one was a wife beater), married to present hubby 37 years in August. I have five girls ages 26-40, 8 grandchildren ages 2-22, and will be a great-grandmother in March.

3) What type of student where you in High School? Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any school clubs and such?

I was alway in trouble in high school, quit in 10th grade. I returned to high school in 2002 with my grandson and graduated 2004. I have been a student at Juniata College 2004 to present (graduate in May with a BA in history and minor in digital media).
I belong to the history club in college, belong to National Scholastic Honor Society, in high school I was in the drama club, and Who's Who American High School students.

4) What did you do after High School?

First time-got married.
This time-went to college.

5)What was your first job?

waitress

6) When did you decide to be such a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings?

1967, when they were going to the superbowl.

7) Could you tell us one of your favorite memories that has to do with the Vikings or one of its past or present players, coaches, etc.

I liked the way AC Carter took Cris under his wing when he joined the team. I feel this is what made Cris Carter the great receiver he was.

8}How did you come to find PP.O and what attracted you most to the site?

Someone suggested the site to me. I lurked for a year before posting. But really liked the family atmosphere of the members.

9) What other sports teams do you follow?

None really.

10) When you’re not on PPO what could you likely be found doing with your spare time?

Studying for classes, reading books, surfing the web, doing photography, quilting, playing with the grandkids, fishing, just whatever hits me at the time.

11) Do you say a special prayer before Vikings games?

Only that they return to the 'never say die' team they use to be. ;>)

12)Where do you watch away Vikings games?

At home, unless they are close enough and I can afford a ticket as I live 'away' and never been to MN.

13)What is your worst fear?

Heights, and dieing before the Vikings win a superbowl!

14) What type of hobbies do you enjoy?

History research, genealogy, salt water fishing (from shore), quilting.

15) What’s your favorite food?

Nice tender lean steaks (med. rare), fish I catch, asparagus, potatoes.

16) Where are some of the places you’ve been, and where are some of your favorites.

Bahamas, all East coast, Michigan, Norway (Bergen & Fedje). The island of Fedje is my favorite, I don't see how my grandfather left such a beautiful place.

17) What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime?

Write a book. Learn to speak Norwegian better.

18)If you could live anywhere where would it be?

Fedje, or Southern USA near the shore. I love the sea!

19) Do you believe the Vikings will have their big day someday? When they do win the Super Bowl, what will be the first thing you think you will do?

Of course! Read my banner! Then I will have a heart attack and die in peace. ;>)

20) Up to this date, what is one of your favorite PPO memories?
[/quote]

Singer sending me a new Helga hat when mine was stolen at the Ravens game, and sending me a mini helmet for Christmas signed by Ron Yary! Those acts of kindness still make me cry with joy.

Now why you want to know all this? Writing a book? ;>) Good thing I'm layed up with a broken ankle from the damn ice!

Nice to meet you, Fedje...if our players have as much persistence and success as you have, we'll win the Super Bowl within a few years.

Hey Ultra, my brother-in-law lived in Novi. But that is the closest to MN I've been!

After graduation I hope to travel a bit, maybe get to see a home game if I can afford it after school loans!
;) I always wanted to go to St. Olaf's College because they have the Norwegian language courses. But I am going fishing this summer come hell or high water!
;D

This is a nice touch to do during off season Badlands! I like it! Brings the 'family' closer together.
;D

I believe you posted that she had a loss in the family and that her new circumstances would preclude her from getting online much and when she did, it would be via dial up.

Since posting that, I have seen her on a couple of times.
Last time she said all was well (I believe).
