According to this bracket if the Giants end up above us, we will play Seattle in the Wildcard game and then the Packers in the next game.

Not quite......NFL playoffs bracket doesn't work like that....it's what I call a "liquid" (as in, not solid) bracket......

for example, it's set up to get the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds in each conference to play in the conf. championship game.....which means, say Vikes as the 6 seed win in 1st round. From there, they wouldn't necessarily play the Pack; they would play the No. 1 seed (because the 6 seed is the lowest, meaning that whoever won the other 1st rd. game would have to be a higher seed, and thus, would play the No. 2 seed. In short, of the two teams in each conference that get a bye, the No. 1 seed ALWAYS gets the lower seed of the two 1st round winners.

I guess this question could go here.

I remember someone saying all we need is 1 more win and we're in... That can't be right can it?

There is a God:

Week 1: Another "typhoon" in Seattle and Hasselbeck can't throw. We pound it out on the ground, as throwing goes out the window.

Week 2: It is like 12 degrees and windy at Lambeau. Again, teams have trouble throwing and catching, and we pound the ball.

Let's face it, our team is made for rainy/muddy/windy conditions in January.

If Minnesota wins and New Orleans loses to Philadelphia, the Vikings make the playoffs. We really need to win the next two and then we could be the 5 seed.

I think I d prefer playing at Tampa, the Seahawks and his Qb Mr.Hardname are veterans of war in playoff materia and their field is too noisy....
As a matter of fact IF someone d give a playoff ticket but I was obligated to play Seahawks at wildcard I d take it...

Either one, if we play well, we can beat anybody.

It's nice to see some optimism on this forum for once.
Granted, the Viking Choke is later than usual this year, but it's about to happen.
Washington will come in and beat you this Sunday to tie your record for the last wildcard slot and own the tiebreaker.
Then you will have to go out to Denver and beat the Broncos outside on Dec. 29.
Not likely for a dome team.
But good luck.

Big talk from a fan of a QB who has consistently choked in the playoffs the past decade...

I can't wait for us to face Green Bay again. I can just see Favre doing his "both hands on the helmet" thing after he throws his 4th pick of the day (seems to always happen to him in the playoffs. Remember that Rams game about 5 years ago ?). I thus find it funny that you would use the term "choke". (I am sure when it happens, the receiver will be blamed for "not running under Brett's pass").

I have said it here once and I will say it again: being able to pound the pill in January is decisive, when it is cold and windy. And we do that well. We don't need 5-receiver sets and constant throwing to advance the ball, like some teams I know.

I find it interesting that teams like New England and the Packers think they can win it all with those 5-receiver sets and throwing on every down. It doesn't seem very balanced to me. We, on the other hand, have a balanced attack.

Anyway, there will be some nice consolation prizes for you guys, when you lose.

Winning in Lambeau is going to be sweet.

Spoken like a true Cheese head. Keep hoping cheesey...In case you didn't notice we have a better team than Washington and we are more than capable of beating them with Todd Collins at there Helm. Playing at home and having AD in the Backfield....add our run defense and overall much improved (Playing like Playoff Time) overall defense. This could get ugly for Washington real fast.

Cheers!

Hey Vikings fans.
Step One of the Viking Choke is complete, as I predicted above.
You are going to be out of the playoffs.

You suck.
Your bald-headed idiot coach sucks, too.
That was obvious tonight.

I'll check back with you soon, after you lose to the Broncos - Step 2.
You suck.

Go Packers!

Nice to know GB isn't going to make it to the show either...Have a nice time playing in Dallas....It's gonna taste even sweeter when Farve and you Packers get knocked out...and it's coming very soon!

Cheers!

Don't worry even if we lose next week we won't be lower than now.

I'm just happy i will get to watch Favre cry and pout as the packers lose...Aagain.... In HD. It would be sweet to see the packers get mooned by randy again, but could they really make it that far?

Can the packers beat Seattle, The Bucs, The Skins?? I think any team in the league could knock off the packers ie bears.

Step 1 of the Packers demise is complete. They can't play in the cold & now blame there losses on it.

So much for "The Frozen Tundra" LMAO!

Gotta give it to ya.

Favres pass to Urlacher was priceless. What does that bring his total to?

You guys can't win if you can't pass and thats 2 games now I've seen Lord Favrreeee resort to the Favrrreeee of old.
"I'll chuck it if I want to".

Thats two things our coaches have in common.
Niether one can fix thier QB's perpensity to chuck the ball at the wrong times.

How far are you guys gonna go when you can't play at home and you can't win in Dallas.

Silly PUKER fan.
;D

Well at least the Vikings made a game of it in the end.
But to no avail.
The Viking Choke is now complete.
They are so predictable.
See you next year.
