Vikings' ascent coincides with drop in penalties (http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/12645981.html)

It's a fact: Mistakes can be a team's ruination. Minnesota's players have gotten the message and are improving every game.

Brad Childress has shown his players charts and graphs detailing the damage penalties can do....

Good article Singer.
This is one of things I've been preaching during the threads where we were saying the Vikings can win 11 games this year.
It's not going to happen obviously but 10 isn't bad either.
It's about 6 more than the so-called experts predicted.
But penalties were a big reason the Vikings were 6-10 last year.
It seemed everytime they ripped off a big play it was brought back (ie GB game when Bethel Johnson ran back a kickoff; Chester taylor 65 yard reception on a screen against the 9ers).
Both would have won those two games.

I know I get on the OL alot, however, in most cases it is well deserved.

Last year alot of our penalities can be attributed to poor OL play which IMHO can also be attributed to the growing pains of installing the hated ZB scheme.
Seems that they are getting more comfortable with it so pre-snap penalties and holding penalties are way down.

Anyone still unhappy with that maturation process?

(Key Note:
A certain Broncos coach said it takes 5 years to implement the ZB scheme.
Guess our staff is better at teaching than his staff by about 3 years.
;D)

Yeah but part of that is holding your blocks.
Can't say everyone is up to par just yet.
It's still a work in progress but the penalty aspect of it has improved a lot.
