Driving home tonight, I heard ESPN Radio interviewing ex-Vike and now Redskin Fred Smoot. He was talking about "taking care of Minnesota next week". All I have to say is, Smoot is and always will be my least favorite Viking ever. I never liked him that much when he was in purple. Now I really don't like him much (can you say "overrated" ?).

All I have to say is, we need to light Smoot up, on national TV.

What is he supposed to say?

"Minnesota is my former team and I think we have no chance."

And Smoot can't be overrated- everyone hates the guy.

We don't need to light up Smoot, we need to light up the whole Redskins team.

The Vikings need to beat the Bears tonight and then worry about next week.

Da Bears are DONE.

Only thing left for tonight are the highlights.
Redskins... now they are playing tough, with plenty of pride.

I agree with Z.
They need to focus on getting a W tonight against the Bears.
Once they do that they can focus on beating the Skins (not just Smoot although it woudl be nice to torch him at least once).

One game at a time!

I hate having to hope that another team loses so we can have a Playoff spot.

A fond memory of the Meathead era was when the Vikings lost to the pathetic Cardinals and gave the Packers the NFCN.
Fuck.

Ugh.. Don't remind me.

It was that freaking flattering little vixen of a tramp Jessica Simpson!!
She ruined everything.

But i do think it's something to note... the last few Cowboy games were a bit lackluster along with the Pats and steelers.
It's something that the Vikes are peaking at literally the right time, where the 'great' teams are losing steam.
Do you see this?

That is a good point but two teams I think everyone needs to look out for are Jacksonville and San Diego.
Both also peaking.

We haven't lit up a corner on any team since that one guy was traded. Who do you propose is going to change that?

The best way to light up Smoot is to send AD or CT his way, I've noticed that he still hasn't learned to use his shoulder when trying to tackle.
He really needs to fix this or he'll be on the disability insurance list.

I don't think Smoot will be our concern when we face the skins.

StillPurple

The reason I hate on Smoot is that when he came into MN, he was supposedly a "shut down corner", i.e. like Champ Bailey, etc. Did you see the Carolina game, when he tried to single-cover Steve Smith ? It looked like a chicken with its head cut off. He didn't know what to do. Ok, I admit, covering Smith single is a tall order, but he was supposed to be this awesome "shutdown" corner.

His "BS to play-making" ratio was just too high.

After the SF tapes, expect Smoot to be crashing in on those running plays before wade and co. has a chance to block him.
He'll come in one on one with AD when he tries to pop in on the outside.
We'll see if he's a good open field tackler or not.

CB run blitz coming.
