SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — After the 49ers schemed all week against Adrian Peterson, their plan to stop the NFL's leading rusher worked splendidly — and that was the extent of San Francisco's successes in another big win for the resurgent Minnesota Vikings....

SAN FRANCISCO - Adrian Peterson is human, after all.

The leading candidate for NFL rookie of the year was bottled up, in part by one of his closest competitors for that award, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis, and Peterson finished with 3 yards rushing on 14 carries.........

Hats off to the 49ers run D, they had a good plan, but our defense set the tone early with Kevin W getting a early score on a intercepted pass from Dilfer. Both Pat and Kevin rocked, and even the new guy caused a fumble and got a sack. Tarvaris continue's to show improvement leading us on scoring drives 4 of the first 5 possesions. The only thing that concerned me was our kickoff coverage. All in All it was a sweet victory.

What we know, and don't know, after 14 weeks of action

The Minnesota Vikings are on fire

It isn't just that the Vikings won their fourth game in a row by beating up on San Francisco, 27-7. It is the fact the Vikings find different ways to win. Sometimes they do it with big plays on defense. Sometimes they do it with their powerful running game. Sometimes they do it with a little bit of everything.

Their win over the 49ers had a little bit of everything. It had big defensive plays, such as tackle Kevin Williams returning an interception 18 yards for a touchdown and tackle Pat Williams picking off a second pass (as part of a five-turnover performance by Minnesota). It had Chester Taylor ripping off an 84-yard touchdown run. And it had Tarvaris Jackson having an efficient passing day (16-for-25 for 163 yards and a touchdown).

The Vikings continue to show they are deserving of a wild-card spot. With games against Chicago, Washington and Denver, their remaining schedule isn't exactly easy, but the way the Vikes are playing in all phases, there is reason to believe they could win out.

I'm sorry... but this part is sorta funny. Those are both embarrassing obituaries:

(refering to two deaths in the 1980's) One of those fatalities was a man who attempted to ride a dumpster down the concourse and the second when a fan tumbled on a rainy day from the upper deck while booing then manager Frank Robinson following a San Francisco Giants loss to the Atlanta Braves.

Wow, probably no alcohol involved in that one, huh?

You know things are getting pretty bad when the fans start dying at the football games...
I feel bad for the families, but each of these guys was pretty instrumental in his own death.

A fumble recovery? Hmm I will have to lok at the play again. I thought it was a INT unless I am thinking ofa different play. still good to see either way.

Dilfer hurting after Vikings-49ers game (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80502fff&template=without-video&confirm=true)

Dilfer was taken to the hospital after going to the locker room. He was released.

Dilfer declined comment as he left the 49ers' training complex Monday, saying, "I can barely think, let alone talk."

Ouch. I hope Dilfer heals up. I think it might be best if he has played his last snap. Better safe than sorry. You can only take so many shots to the head before it really gets bad.

And let's hope our TJ starts sliding while on those scrambles.
