You wanted it and you got it, a rivalry. I mean a serious one between teams not fans. As much as viking fans would like to think Green Bay/Minnesota games are a big rivalry, GB/Chicago dwarfs it in comparison. The lifetime head to head record of these two teams is remarkably similar, even if Green Bay's record in recent years is nearly as perfect as Bart Simpson's over Sideshow Bob. The packers and bears hate eachother and they should. Minnesota will never have that type of division rivalry unless they pick one with Detroit.
Luckily there are players like Chris Hovan. The man apparently thinks that he is Warren Sapp, but he is a force that is making these two teams hate eachother. He along with John Randle and Corey Fuller, are just adding fuel to the fire. The teams are so eavenly matched in overall head to head record as well as records over the last 5-10 years. These teams should hate eachother, and we see it being more and more apparent. Hovan with his KISS make-up, which I thought was banned when Randle wore it, is running his mouth. Favre is flipping off Hovan. Hovan is flipping off the Lambeau crowd. Sharper returned the pick just to rub it in. Call is classless, but be thankful for it because you have a rivalry. You have a game where the other team hates your guts. Packers will be taking this game more seriously next year, because bad blood is brewing that that is good. The NFL wants everyone to be friends, but what makes it great is the rivalries. Packer/Bears, Raiders/Cheifs, Skins/Cowboys. These are the games we love to see. Two teams that want to kill eachtoher and rub it in once they do. Minnesota hasn't had something of this magnitude yet, and with players like Hovan and Favre it will grow. Love it Viking fans. A revolution is starting in this rivalry and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Prepare for cheap shots, and downright classless behavior because that is a rivalry.
