* The game doesn't sell out
* The snow kicks in on Saturday
* The Wife's labor follows shortly after
* We plow through the drifts to reach the hospital on Sunday morning
* The labor extends through the day and the Vikings are blacked out
* AD goes for 3 bills
* My son is born
* I don't name him Adrian

That's about it, I think.

Now that is a prediction.

Do you know it'll be a son? Are you settled in on a name?

Yes, we know it's a son.
Yes, we have a name.
No, we aren't telling.

Good choice.

As long as your son is not a teddybear, and you're not a female school teacher living in Sudan: Then you'd be in trouble (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7121025.stm)

Somehow it doesn't surprise me at all to see or predict the Lions folding after a strong start.

glad we're not completely over looked anymore, then again, its the Lions lol. We're clearly a better team than the last time we faced them, and they barely won then.

Lions have a shot at the end to put a drive together and kick a game winning field goal, but EJ Henderson sacks Kita on 3rd down forcing the Lions to attempt a 57 yard field goal- which they miss.

I really could see 2 - 100 yard rushers in there, as i don't think AD will get most of the handoffs.
TJ has his 3rd straight steady game, and the Defense kicks ass!!!

Vikings 27 - 24 Lions

Vikings have a big lead but the vikes let the lions get back in the game.

Not if they played just as physical in the 2nd half as they did in the 2nd half of the Giants game.
I like the two 100 yard rushers theory tho

The Lions won by three in Week 2. They were confident then, and Adrian Peterson hadn't emerged.

As time has gone on, the Lions have remembered they're the Lions. They've been giving up a few big games to running backs, such as 110 to Brian Westbrook, 92 to Earnest Graham, and 101 to Ryan Grant, all of whom aren't as good as Adrian Peterson.

The Lions pass defense is second worst in the league, so considering they'll be looking to try and stop Adrian Peterson, I expect Sidney Rice to have another big game.

The Vikings have the best run defense in the league, and the Lions are the worst run offense in the league. Considering that, and the fact that the Vikings have the worst pass defense in the league, the Lions will be throwing.

But since the Lions know they can't run and won't run, the Vikings will expect the pass and will shut it down. Kitna may go for 250-300 yards, but he's not good enough to win it on his own, especially with Calvin Johnson being a huge disappointment this year, and Roy Williams not showing up when he needs to.

Also, this game is in Minnesota. Detroit has a losing road record while Minnesota has a winning home record.

Vikings: 34
Lions: 21

I think that this one will be a dog fight (nod to Michael Vick).

The Lions are slumping, and I think they're looking at us as their "Turn it around now" point.
After all, after us they have Dallas...
So, I think that Detroit is going to be coming out hot, trying to salvage Kitna's prediction.

Meanwhile, the Vikes have strung together 2 wins, and Brad Childress needs quite a few more to get us off his back.
AP should be back (I hope, I haven't heard for sure), so that gives us an awesome threat.
Jackson owes the Lions for the 4-pick game he had last time.
And the Defense let the Lions slide one by, so look for them to be wanting to put Kitna out...for the whole game.

So, here's 2 teams who desperately need a win....who wants it more?

I'm going with 27-17, Minnesota.

Minnesota. They're sensing a bad NFC. With two straight wins, they can smell the playoffs. Getting AP back will feed that hunger and that effort.

Detroit may be sensing urgency losing three straight, but they're simply not good enough to fix this. When they collapse, they completely collapse. That's just how they are.

The Vikings are the hotter team right now, and all match ups seem to point towards a Vikings win. Of course, that's just on paper, and games aren't played on paper.

But still, the Vikings will win this game. I want them to, not only to get the Lions off the Packers back and move one step closer to a division title, but because I get to listen to the whining on the radio as everyone is ready to jump off a bridge here (I live near Detroit).

Pure entertainment listening to them after a loss.

Over the last two games, the Vikings have scored 70 points...and they'll be playing at the ThunderDome...with Purple Jesus back...against the lions.
This is my prognostication...

Tarvaris Jackson throws for 2 scores, 236 yards, and runs for a total of 59.

Adrian Peterson runs for 1 TD and 145 total yards (95 on the ground and 50 through the air).

Chester Taylor runs for 125 on the ground, and catches for 30 and a TD.

Sidney Rice finally busts the century mark with 2 TD catches and 155 yards receiving...and also PASSES for a TD on a flea-flicker to Taylor.

The Vikings Defense harasses Kitna all game long and tallies 8 sacks, 3 INTs, a Defensive TD from their 2nd forced fumble (caused by Kevin Williams and ran in by Greenway), as well as a safety.

Special Teams shines with a blocked FG ran back for a TD and a forced fumble on a punt return.

Vikings 47 - Lions 28 (two of their TDs come from fumbles by T-Jack and AP)

The Vikings Defense harasses Kitna all game long and tallies 8 sacks, 3 INTs, a Defensive TD from their 2nd forced fumble (caused by Kevin Williams and ran in by Greenway), as well as a safety.

Special Teams shines with a blocked FG ran back for a TD and a forced fumble on a punt return.

Vikings 47 - Lions 28 (two of their TDs come from fumbles by T-Jack and AP)

Yep tonight we are Superbowl bound and tomorrow we will be ready for the #1 pick in 2008.

I just don't get this rollercoaster ride.

Put your purple shades on...sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. ;D

Vikes are on a roll and Lions are reeling.
If A. Winfield can play and contribute, and we can minimize the productivity of the 4 WR sets:

Vikes 24
Lions 20

It will be a surprise shootout:

Vikes 34
Lions 31

When every game is basically a "Must Win" for both the Lions and The Vikings playoff hopes and since the Lions are Division Rivals as well I have a feeling this game is going to be a slug fest. Home field can make a difference. So I give the edge to our Vikings by 7 points or less.

Vikings 24

Lions 20

Cheers!

I think the offense opens it up a bit today.....

Divisional games are always tough to pick, usually the Lions are a no brainer, but not this year.....But I believe we continue with our winning ways and catch them a bit flat..

Vikings
30

Lions

20

I think the Lions game comes down to just a couple of things.

Can they stop our running attack and will they be able to even mount any sort of running attack.

I know everyone is pretty optimistic over this one, mostly because we played them pretty close early on in the season and they have lost thier last three games (Arizona, Giants, and GB).

Another thing people are pretty excited about is the way we rattled Eli and the belief that we have a new and improved defensive scheme. As for me I think that we haven't solved world hunger with our current success against Eli but rather just face a QB that was easily rattled by our blitz package.

Kitna on the other hand, won't be as easily fooled and I look for him to put up fairly decent number again if we can't get pressure on him with our front four without committing a steady dose of LB blitz packages.
In my world they will be able to get some pressure with the front 4 and selectively roll in an occasional LB blitz to keep him guessing.

Because they won't be able to establish any sort of run (they are struggling with it anyway) we should be able to focus alot on the pass as they are pretty much a one dimensional team.
That should help our front 4 with applying the right kind of pressure without over extending ourselves, again, with alot of LB blitzing.
The ole, "Pin thier Ears Back" cliche' applies here.

On thier side of the defense they are very respectable with 28 sacks and 15 INT's with Ernie Sims as thier biggest tackler.
They appear to me that they are also struggling with thier cover 2 as we are as they are ranked 31rst against the pass.
We should be able to get alot of short to intermediate passing when/if we can't move the ball via the running game which plays into our strenght as well.

On a side note, we do have a young QB that is easily rattled. If our OL can't pickup the blitz (which will come early and often) then it might be along day for the young Jedi.
Look to see alot of 2 TE sets with a FB in to block as well.

We might have some troubles running if they elect to stack the box, which they might not have to do as much as one would believe as they are ranked T9th against the run.
Good thing for us, as I stated above, they are ranked 31rst against the pass.

Long story short,

TJ protects the ball better and has no interceptions.
He goes 22/35 for 235yds and 2 TDs

AD plays but in a limited role and mostly as a decoy or as a reciever out of the backfield.
10 rushes for 66 yds and 5 receptions for 35 yards

CT doesn't set the world on fired with any long runs, but stays patient behind our OL and the Zone Block thier dimply buttocks off to a 90 yard effort against a very stout defense and scores 2 TD's off of short runs one of which is set up by a poor pass/INT from Kitna.

End result, Vikes 31 Lions 17

This guy was pretty close again this week.
