I am so fricken pumped!
What a game!
I think that we know how to approach teams from here on out.
Pressure the QB and run the hell out of the ball.

Man, did our Defense play awesome today or what?
Finally we pressure the opposing QB relentlessly!
That helps our pass D so much; and the fact that Rivers blows ass!
EJ had one helluva game.

I was so happy to see Brooks.
I do not want TJ hurt, but Brooks looked so fresh last week as if he had something to prove.
I think Brooks should start until he has a couple of bad games.
I am not going to say bench him for 1 bad game because it is bound to happen.

I was not down when we fumbled, it happens.
It does not happen to us often.
Like the annoucer said, that's what happens when you are clawing for every yard.

First Half

I love what I see from the defense.
After the first 2 drives we started to get some good pressure on Rivers (crybaby).
They cannot run on us so we are forcing Rivers to do what he should not do.

Special Teams on the opening kick-off...yuk!
And the lack of focus at the end of the half for our players not to set-up for a return.
WTF?

I liked what AD was doing.
I really get scared when he goes airborne; a big chance to cough-up the ball.

TJ, very lucky he got out of there without getting picked.
I have zero faith in him, none.
I was happy to see Brooks in there only to get sacked (nice blocking).
But he did make 2 great throws.

Props:
Defense, getting pressure and defending some passed.
I think we got lucky that Rivers missed his mark a few times when we were beat.
We hold them to <100 first half yards.

AD, running hard.

The Chargers penalties...what a bunch of clowns!

Cedric, did a great job stopping LT on 3rd down.
Good run stopper, still needs cover work.

Allison with a huge 80 yard return!

EJ is playing awesome!

Jeers:
When our defense gets the stops, we need to put some points on the board.
You cannot win if you cannot take the momentum in your favor and do something with it.

Dwight Smith, don't commit stupid penalties no matter if they only gained 1 yard.
But he did redeem himself with a nicely defended pass.

3rd down conversions, still a huge problem.

McKinnie, way to block Mr. $$$

Our penalties.
>:(

Second Half:

Brooks is looking good.
Moves well in the pocket, steps-up, and rolls out and fires nice.
Awesome TD pass to Rice.
TJ would have overthrown the ball!
Brooks gives us the best chance to win!

At one point:
TJ:
6 for 12, 63 yards
Brooks:
6 for 8, 79 yards, 1 TD

Rivers is a joke!
I have never been sold on this guy and he is so overrated!
LOL!
Nice fumble!
http://www.smilies-and-more.de/pics/smilies/laughing/011.gif

I feel bad for CT for the fumble.
But he is still a tough ass runner!

EJ with the leap over LT!
Nice!
I see so much energy out of our pass rush today!
We have needed that so much.

Ray "the freak" Edwards with the swipe on Rivers!
I am really liking what I see out of him!

Just another sloppy Norv Turner team!
http://www.smilies-and-more.de/pics/smilies/laughing/017.gif

The Chargers have more penalty yards than rushing yards and they used to have the best RB in the game!

CT was huge on that awesome 3rd down screen.
Then he comes in with that huge run in the 4th!
Damn, he is awesome as well!
I think it was classy on Chilly's part to give CT some spotlight.
Chilly is the "class of the NFL".
A new record!!!!!!!!!!!1

AD was killing them.
Is this the Charger's Defense that only gives-up 88.9 yards per game?
Looks shitty to me.

MeMo with a huge punt return!
Awesome!
And then AD sticks the dagger in with another TD run!
Awesome!!!
AD is the new "freak" for this team!
I will gladly sniff his crotch!
http://www.smilies-and-more.de/pics/smilies/bananas/038.gif

Awesome pick by Charles Gordon!!!
Our pass D was outstanding today!

Good job today Chilly!

The biggest key to this game:
PRESSURE ON THE QB!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/ultravikingfan/AD.png

Let's turn this team around and get some wins!

I will work on a highlight video of AD and hopefully have it on youtube by tonight.

Fuck all the haters!
This was Vikings football today folks...you gotta love it!

I really mean that.....short of the mental laps on the missed F.G. I don't think we could have played much better than what I saw today.

O-Line Was Great!

Defense was Great!

A. Peterson and C.Taylor both Great!

Brooks Bollinger Great!

I will give the Coaching staff credit for this one too. The O-coordinator and D-coordinatos Great!

Fun game to watch....and a GREAT WIN.

IMO, Brooks gives us the best chance to win. I think he has shown that in the limited amount of time he has had in the game over the past couple of weeks.

Thank you Lord for Adrian Peterson. He is amazing....the best and most exciting Viking since Moss. Plus, he's a quality individual too. Congrats to him on the NFL record!

Offensive line today = Great.

The defense was lights out. Pass defense was great...run defense even better.

Special teams was ok. Kluwe had some ugly punts, the returned FG was a bummer, but Mewelde's retrun was great and so was Allison's.

This was a good game. Well played and well coached.

I'm speechless, we just watched AD break the single game rushing record. Be it by only a yard, but you know as well as i, if not for a holding call he had a 20ish yard run called back and giving it to CT when we were under a minute he would of CRUSHED that record. I'm so amped!!!

Our O-line dominated this game so much that I almost wet myself. Great job by BB, Rice. Peterson is just a monster, I love that guy. I liked the playcalling as well, and besides that one missed field goal that got returned for a touchdown, our special teams play was great.

Our defense shut me up today.
AD is the most electifying player in the NFL today.
Our Oline deserved it's pay.

My only complaint is that I hope fans don't come to hate Chester in favor of AD. Chester runs just as hard (he's just not as talented). The AD chants with Chester running in the goal line ticked me off. Glad they did cheer when he scored though.

Great game.

Historic.

I too was very glad to see Brooks. Screw the naysayers. He got the job done as I expected him to. While I never like to see any of our guys get injured, I was very happy when Bollinger got in the game. He should have gotten the nod in the first place today. I need to reiterate my belief that Tarvaris is just not ready to be an NFL starter and he may never be. Brooks should not only start again next week regardless of Jackson's health status, he should start until (like Ultra said) he loses a couple of games.

And obviously, what can you say about Adrian Peterson. Amazing. I'm glad I was able to see him break the single game record.

While there still were negatives here and there, all in all it was a great game. I think I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this one for awhile.

4.Kluwe will deserve a probowl app.
5.Bollinger made a great great job,He had the more solid performance in this season by a Vike Qb
6.Memo ,on the return team is waaaay better than Wade ,like I said.
7.AD,the most explosive man in the league.
8.The Run D,limited a lot to the"best"RB in the league

The o-line finally pulled their head out of their ass this game. Amazing. Adrian with the single game rushing record... AS A ROOKIE??? I mean, I thought he would be good pre-season but no where near this good.

Defense showed up today. Chargers couldn't run with the now second-best running back in the NFL. Our pass defense was destroying them for the most part. without that field goal return we only allowed 10 points on D.

Props to whoever called the sidney rice play and huge props to bollinger for the perfect pass. The coaching flat out worked today.

Only 2 pages.
WTF.
Were are all the haters?
;D

Props
DL.
The boys came to play today.
Good thing the coaches didn't hold them back
;D
Loved what they did mixing on the 3-4 and shuffling/fake blitzes by LB then delaying EJ.

LB.
EJ should make the probowl.
He was everywere.
Glad the coaches weren't holding him back for this game.
;D

S.
Did Gordon, Griff and McCauley step up today or what. Helps that they had a DL putting pressure on the QB but some really great plays by all.
Glad the coaches were holding them back.
;D

(By the way, Sharper, way to open your mouth and miss all those floaters.
Way to step up when we needed ya.
>:()

OL.
The zoneblocking is really coming together.
I love to watch our Gaurds pull.
Good job by Birk as well.
He is Identifying the MLB blitz/Blitzer better.
Better job of Pass Blocking today.

TE.
Nice catch and run by Shank.
Great blocking by Dugan/Shank/Klieny.
Glad the coaches quite holding them back.
I knew they could play if the coaches would leave them alone.

QB.
BB steps up again.
Great job my friend.
TJ.
decent job while you lasted.

Downers.

TJ.
I really am getting concerned about his injury issues.
I don't care how great he is or could be, he has to stay healthy.

ST.
I almost game them props but damn.
Whats up with Kluwe today.
Who went to sleep on the long FG attemp.
Damn coaches probably didn't work on that with them cause they were busy working on crawl stuff like passing, catching and running.
Frickin coaches
;D

OL.
Can't resist.
Some dumb missed blocks.
Getting better though.

Coaches.
I'm so tired of watching the coaches hold this team back.
Especially when Tank hit the guy out of bounds.
Damn coaches.
Or when the ST's messed up on coverage for a long return opening kickoff and the long FG to close the half.
Damn coaches.
Or when they had Allison fake a lateral on the KO.
Damn coaches.
Or the way they switched up the 4-3 to the 3-4 and had our LB's mixing up blitz packages confusing Rivers.
Damn coaches.
Or the way they had Gordon Shadow Gates and almost shut him down.
Damn coaches.

I sure wish we could get a coaching staff that taught the guys how to crawl first instead of trying to run first.
;D

Love the comment Dierdal made about coaches being bald.

Anyone else get tired of the commercial with the Wolf and the Bird.
Wish he would just eat the damn thing.

All kidding aside.
Can anyone else see the future.

This game shows the potential we all thought was there. Decent QB play turns this team into a contender that can compete with most teams.
The question remains; who is that quarterback?

Great game. We all needed this.

The commentators didn't have a lot of good to say about the Vikes in the first half. They sure changed their tune in the second half.

If the young players stop making so many mistakes and the QB can complete some passes; this game could be the turning point.

I hope so.

Nice flow to the playcalling today. Handing the ball to AP and CT, even on 3rd and 6. Nice. Keeps the O-line involved, ands wears down the D. If they will keep doing that, they will get more of those plays like the TD to Rice and the screen with Chester in today's game.

I'm not going to get all gushy about the O-line despite their great play today. Incidently, it wasn't just the line. It was great blocking at every position today. But Herrera ,despite his penalty today appears to have made quite a difference.

I'll admit it - I wasn't expecting a win this week - especially not with Winfield out.
But then again, how could I possibly have foreseen the sudden appearance of an actual pass rush?
Anycrap, I'm now going to temper the massive piles of glowing, well-deserved praise for our boys with some actual insight into this game and the rest of the season.

[u]BBQ's Observations and Random Musings Regarding the Vikings (feat. an assortment of cute tap-dancing squirrels and other furry freakshow creatures)

1. The Chargers AREN'T who we thought they were.
They didn't look very well-prepared for this game.
Hell, did they even bother preparing for this game? Their playcalling (and play in general) was uninspired on both sides of the ball.
AD and the Vikings defense kept them utterly flustered throughout the entire game.
Can this really be the same Chargers squad that went 14-2 last year?
What a difference a coach makes.

2. Brooks Bollinger should be our starting quarterback.
I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was for me to type that sentence.
I mean - it just doesn't look right.
It doesn't even FEEL right.
It's like hearing "Lady Madonna" on the radio and forcing yourself to shout out "Herman's Hermits!"
But for some odd reason, he's playing some good football right now and, despite throwing just a handful of passes, has established himself as our clear-cut #1 guy.
Frankly, I think that some form of dark sorcery (or possibly a Faustian bargain) is involved.

3. Aggressive, well-disguised blitzes = win.
Gooey, doughy-soft zone defense = pure phail.
What an odd coincidence that our pass defense should turn in its best game of the season when our pass rush finally decided to show up.
(Thanks, pass rush!)
The difference, IMO, was imagination.
I'm no statistician, but I'm pretty sure I saw a greater number of stunts, overloads, and exotic blitz packages in this game compared with previous weeks.
It's nice to see Leslie Frazier finally putting that '85 Bears pedigree to good use.

4. Adrian Peterson has shown (yet again) that he can instantly change the entire course of a game - all by himself.
Sure, we're all feeling great about our offense now, but does anybody remember how they felt about the offense at the end of the first half?
If you are a goldfish or a squirrel, here's a little recap for you:

"Larry the Helpful Squirrel" wrote:

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Vikings faithful.
They had just witnessed the worst two-minute drill in the history of football - a full one minute and fourteen seconds passed before the Vikings took their first timeout (inside their own territory, no less) - culminating in a missed 58-yard field goal that got returned for a touchdown.
Sure, the Vikings defense had done a good job, giving up only one touchdown and 91 total yards from scrimmage.
But the offense had scored only one touchdown, and Adrian Peterson was averaging a paltry (by his standards) 3.3 yards per carry.

To make a long story short, we looked pretty sh1tty.

Thanks, Larry!

Anywho, here's what happened when the offense took the field for their first drive of the second half:

How's THAT for a second-half adjustment?

I liked the fact that after AD got the one huge run that Chilly put CT in there for quite a few good runs.

I 100% agree.

TJ struggled.
He did not make any major mistakes (almost) but he had problems.

Brooks can move in the pocket well and is good on the roll-out.
I think Brooks realizes that he has a chance at being the starter and is playing like it.

This was one of the best games ive ever watched. It was more exciting then watching the moss and pep show.

The good:

The coaches and the play calling finally let AD run the whole game. Hes the most exciting player in the NFL. Ive NEVER seen someone turn on the speed like AD does. I guess AD doesnt need as many "breathers" as people think. He can literally run all day, hes in perfect shape.

The Oline played great. Best ive seen in 2 years. Maybe this is the game where they really will start to gel.

Brooks came in and did good. Maybe its time we go after wins with him and let TJ mature a bit (and maybe recover from all the injuries he gets).

Rice is going to be one of the best WRs if we can get our QBs to feed him balls. He has a nose for the endzone.

The D came to play. even the corners

The bad:

Kinda hard to name the bad when the team does so good but, we had 2 fumbles in the red zone. That will normally loose games.

The specials teams wearnt that good. Kluwe had a bad day. And giving up that TD after a FG miss is unnaceptable.

BBQ's Observations and Random Musings Regarding the Vikings (feat. an assortment of cute tap-dancing squirrels and other furry freakshow creatures)

They had just witnessed the worst two-minute drill in the history of football - a full one minute and fourteen seconds passed before the Vikings took their first timeout (inside their own territory, no less) - culminating in a missed 58-yard field goal that got returned for a touchdown.
Sure, the Vikings defense had done a good job, giving up only one touchdown and 91 total yards from scrimmage.
But the offense had scored only one touchdown, and Adrian Peterson was averaging a paltry (by his standards) 3.3 yards per carry.

To make a long story short, we looked pretty sh1tty.

Then the offense took the field for their first drive of the second half.
Here's how they did:

Great post.
I did not have alot of hope for this game...at all.
Agree with your Bollinger comments - on all accounts.

Dan Dierdork made some interesting comments today, not the least of which had to do with the production from what I believe could be the best draft in the history of the Vikes.

I thought a major, major component of the win was how we took Gates out...I'll need to watch the game again to figure that out.
It was mostly due to the pressure, however, the Vikes had to do something special to take him out.
How this defense performed that well against this team without Winfield is a pretty major accomplishment.

Today's game also made it more obvious how good this team will be once we have decent QB play.
Bollinger didn't miss the wide open TD today as has seemingly been missed in every game to date.

They played with some major emotion today too...good job boys.

Im going to go a step further with how much this win meant. AD performance alone today will get fanced juiced up to buy tickets. This in turn will get us a new stadium. We may flop for the rest of the year, but fans will want to watch AD.

I got calls from about 6 friends today about the game. They aernt die hard fans like me (they actually were deer hunting instead of watching the game!) I have never seen this much excitement about a 3-5 team. It was an amasing game.

The way we were launching off the ball was a line coaches dream!
That being said Ray Edwards looked real good on D today as well.

I hope this continues for us, it would be nice to get on a roll especially starting next week.
the schedule gets a bit easier as we

But in comparison, that Chargers punting game (which we got to see plenty of) was great.
That guy is like 20 yards better than everybody else in the league.

Too bad for the Chargers that AD is 6 times better than LT.

All I gotta say is Adrian Peterson....Oh.....MY.....GOD!!!! He is a fricken' stud! I'm pretty pissed that some other being was in my body at the viking draft party saying let's draft Brady Quinn, who was that asshole anyways!! hahaha It may be an extremely long season, but thank God for AD!

As bad is this team is, it has a very solid core of young players that can very much be built on. AD, Rice, Griffen, Mccauley. Amazing win, epecially with Winfield out. If TJ pans out, wow this team could be good

Good call, I think when we get a Qb with Peterson and Rice we will have that stud offense to go along with our already pretty solid D!

Bad:
- The score just doesn't show how badly we stomped the Chargers today.
- Penalties were killing us. I amazed we were able to overcome that.
- TJ looked better, but not near good enough. He just doesn't have what it takes.
- Where was Bobby Wade today?
- Those two fumbles were also costly.

Good:
- All Day
- Chester Taylor. I still say that guy needs more than nine carries.
- Sidney Rice seeing more time looked real good.
- Childress looked like an idiot running off the field at halftime, but he was money today. Sticking to the run and limiting the amount of passes thrown. Setting up the playaction pass with the run. 43 runs and 24 passes (65/35 run/pass ratio), you get my point?
- Childress gets extra kudos. Allison's return was a great idea, i just hope we never actually lateral it. Putting in Bollinger in over Holcomb. Some will say that was obvious, but he easily could have gone with Nancy there. Was that a screen pass I saw? Did it work beautifully?
- The good ole OL. I have been hesistant to criticize them this year. It was unbelievable how well they played.
- DEFENSE. How many times do I have to say it? THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR DEFENSE. Someone mentioned that we shut Gates down, which is amazing considering how TEs have lit us up this year. It's awesome to know our D can shut down a guy like Tomlinson.
- Major kudos here. These guys stepped it up big time. I going to admit something which I should have known. I did not know that Winfield was going to miss the game. I know, i'm a better fan than that. That being said, I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT WINFIELD WASN'T PLAYING UNTIL THE SECOND HALF. Cedric Griffin, Marcus McCauley, Charles Gordon.

When all is said and done, its just amazing what we do when we choose to stick with the run. There wasn't a soul in the building who didn't know we were going to run, and AD still reels off a 35 yarder. Please let this be an exception and not the rule.

35-17. Then you think of the runback, our D only gives up 10 points. Then you realize we had two redzone fumbles. We kicked San Diego's ass today. We looked like a playoff team today.

Play improved Oline, pass D, backup QB, Dline pressure and play calling.
AD isn't normal he's a superbeing.
Gates and LT were shutdown, Childress is better than Turner and Cottrell still sux ;D

Looking forwarding to seeing this team playing Packers next week and hope they hand one to Favre at his house.

That was very well written.
I can't argue with any of it.
I think by the same token the Oline seems to be gelling now.
Yet I'm still worried about Cook.
He looks lost sometimes.

I think I agreed with basically everything you said, V, but to comment on a few...

I agree.
I love watching AD, but CT runs hard.
Real hard.
Love seeing him get it 10-15 times.

- Sidney Rice seeing more time looked real good.

This guy can be good.
He still makes some mistakes and drops some passes, but there's no reason not to play him all the time.
No one else we have has his potential at that position.

Was that a screen pass I saw?

Yes.

Did it work beautifully?

Yes.

- The good ole OL. I have been hesistant to criticize them this year. It was unbelievable how well they played.

I agree.
And how much better was our blocking in the 2nd half?
What happened?
Steroid boost?
They were awesome, as were the guys on the outside blocking the DBs.

I agree.
But how did this happen?
We played tight on D today, and our guys stepped up big.
There were a few plays when it looked like we were beat, but the DBs made great plays, their QB underthrew the ball, or their receivers dropped it.
Everything worked for us, and we beat them up pretty bad.
Booyah.

35-17. Then you think of the runback, our D only gives up 10 points. Then you realize we had two redzone fumbles. We kicked San Diego's ass today. We looked like a playoff team today.

Chalk it up to youth my friend.

He, like the rest of the OL, seemed to be a little more comfortable with the 3-4 than the last time.
Every snap he takes, just makes him better.
Herrera stepping up is also improving Cooks play as well.
Seems like they work well together.
Might be a good fit for years to come if they continue to improve.

It was a great win today.
Exciting game to watch.
We could have won by a score of at least 45-10 if not for mistakes.
I just hope we can maintain some consistency of the level of play.
We looked great against the Bears.
We looked not too bad against the Cowboys.
We flat sucked against the Eagles.
And we played our best game of the season today.
I hope we have permanently stepped our game up a notch.

Next week we get to knock Green Bay off its pedestal.

Kluwe's punts:
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay?game_id=29315&displayPage=tab_play_by_play&season=2007&week=REG9

25 yards
51 yards
40 yards
39 yards
68 yards

Are you kidding me?
Had a bad game?
Why, because he happened to shank I punt for 25 yards?
He averages 44 yds a punt and that is what he averaged today.

Sure he shanked one, but don't you think a 68 yard bomb makes up for that?

You always gotta bitch about something.
If we would've lost you'd be happy and have 50 more posts.

You do have to complain about something...

But in comparison, that Chargers punting game (which we got to see plenty of) was great.
That guy is like 20 yards better than everybody else in the league.

Too bad for the Chargers that AD is 6 times better than LT.

It was not a comparison.
Yes, the Chargers had great punts but Kluwe was not "bad" today.

Did anyone else find it ironic that the day Adrian Peterson enters the All-time record book, the opposing team has the longest TD (play) in NFL history?
So many records and big plays against us, the one game we have a historic day, Cromartie returns a missed FG 109 yards

FUCKIN FUCK YEAH!!!!!
WHAT A GAME!!

Before the game I was telling my friends that Childress should put together a video of all the bad things
people are saying about our team, and pull a Belichek and work some intensity out of the whole disrespect angle.
And then, They certainly played like they had something to prove today!!
After watching everyone and their mother dis our team and pick the Chargers to win easily all morning (pregame shows) long, we really, REEALLY, REEEEEALLY NEEDED THIS WIN!!!
And, man, was it fun to watch!!

Chargers did stink it up some...Hmmm, maybe they were looking forward to their game against the Colts next week...snooze you loose!! haha

On defense, we attacked.
LBs coming at him on nearly every play...AND WE STUFFED LT!!!
Several nicely defensed passes...Smith, Griffin, MacCauley, and Gordon with the pick!!
Looks like our secondary stepped up to the man-to-man that the blitzing requires!!
Keep em comin Frazier!!!

Once again, on offense, we see what a little passing game can do for breaking AP loose!!
And, TJack rushed for two first downs as well...too bad he got hurt, again.
Bollinger started off rough, nearly losing the first snap, and getting sacked on the next, but pulled his shit together in the second half...70% completions, that is better than any game for either of our other QBs this season.
Seems he was around that last week too...if he didn't make so many stupid mistakes, I'd jump on that bandwagon too.
IDK?
Maybe he should get a few starts, so TJack can fully "heal?"

AP...WOW!!
But, I don't think anyone can take 30 carries a game for a whole season...AND, Chester Taylor runs hard too...we need both of them over the long haul!!
Sure, AP deserves the Lion's share, but CT and MM are both good RBs with good moves too...just not GREAT.
I hope and pray that AP can be a stud for the Minnesota Vikings for a DECADE OR BETTER!!!!
Many of the greats get burnt up quick, its a tough position to play.

All that offense comes back to the best thing of all...OUR OLINE FINALLY SEEMS TO BE COMING TOGETHER!!
Herrara is definitely a step up, and I do think it is helping out Cook.
So does running the ball!!
Our Oline can be a group of big bad beasts if they're allowed to go mash a bit more!

All in all...progress.
We just might be moving up the learning curve...from the coaches down to the backups.
Hope we can keep improving, and give our YOUNG team some serious confidence going into next year!!
Not to mention, some popular support for our beleaguered coaches-who I believe, are building a team to compete for the long haul.

Where has THIS team been all season?!?!?!?!?

This was as close to a complete game as I've seen from the Vikes in awhile.
Total domination on the Offensive side of the ball, great QB pressure on the defensive side...I sat in shocked amazement as the Chargers folded like a house of cards and - more importantly - the Vikings DIDN'T.

And, for once, I don't really have a "knock" on the Vikes play.
Sure, the 109 yard return stung a bit, and I completely expected teh Vikes to come out flat in the 2nd...and they DIDN'T.

All in all, I was evetremely pleased with the Vikes play - all around.

Now comes the million dollar question....can we maintain that level of play?

Last year, we beat Seattle silly, then proceeded to fold.
Can we hold on to the level of intensity we saw on both sides of the ball today?

Green Bay doesn't have a running game.
All they do is pass.
Can we disrupt that, knowing that if we don't we're in for a long afternoon?
I certainly hope so.

I loved the blitzes today, but San Diego (Which is german for "Whales vagina") never ran screens or draws to break the blitzes...Green Bay will.
Can we cover the quick slants that Green Bay has relied on all season?
Can we stop Fav-ray from connecting with Jennings on game breaking TD bombs?

I hope so.

As good as I've seen the Vikes play in a long time.
The pass defense was great.
The rush defense was great.

Bollinger should be the QB going forward IMO.

I haven't heard anything, which is surprising.
If he was doing that good, I doubt it was a concussion, maybe a neck stinger.

Oh boy was I happy.
AP obviously, CT did a heck of a job spotting, and Bollinger did his part as well.
Our offense keeping our defense off the field for longer stretches did quite a bit to help out defense out as well.
The complaint I would have isn't really that great anyways, at the time I was ticked that we were down near the endzone and Taylor was in instead of AP and then CT fumbled the ball away and I was about ready to throw the nerf brick at the t.v.
And I will once again give Chilly dawg the credit he deserves for running AP as our #1 back, here's to atleast another decade of AP running.

i didnt
get a chance to watch the game so i will have to wait until the replay starts but i did follow some on my phone.

Obviously AD was amazing 9 td's and 1036 yards rushing in 8 games
Rice with a nice bomb for the td.
Pass defense really stepped up against a good qb who has good weapons rivers,lt,gates, chambers i was pleasantly surprised that we shut them all down.

My most important thing in my opinion is putting moore in as a returner, wade suck moore=magic
His first game in a while and he breaks a 40 yard return.......make him the permanent punt returner he is one of our better weapons!

INSANE! Some one opened a can of whoop A$$! I was happy going into the game, knowing we would lose and I would endure it. Hahahhahah. Oh me of little faith!

Some one replaced our O-Line, QB, Recievers, and secondary.....that HAS to be it....if not, why dont they play that way all the time?

Hats off to: EJ! omg...superman over LT and get the sack...and what a game. Childress, wow, you JUST may be a good coach without McNabb. Secondary, umm, swatting passes ALL OVER THE FIELD! Hey Rook, ohhh, you just swatted one again.DSmith....wow, just WOW! (I wanna type caps on everything!) Recievers, Ferguson gettting the first down! Rice..ohhh Rice! And Blocking, yes the receivers can plain flat block. D in general, anyone see them jawing with LT and especially Rivers? Yep...they were SO into Rivers head there was no coming back. Oline, sweet mother of god, single game rushing record = lotta insane holes made by them....did I miss anyone?

AP, wow, rook! LOL, hanging up the nfl all time single game rushing record on the number 7 ranked (before) D against the rush. The fumble hurt me too, but WOW, WOW WOW WOW WOW...

Even the broadcasters were good. LOL, "you could fry and egg on Brad Childress's forehead right now" (after the missed FG return) made my day.

Seriously is it just me or is it that 90% of another teams historic highlights come against the Vikings? Watching NFL Films of old and present day footage, its always the Vikings getting burned. And of course on the day the Vikes smash someone and set a record, the opponent had a record of their own. Oi...

I guess Kluwe did have a good day. The first half of the game i thought he had a 20ish and 2 30ish yrd punts. While their punter was booming it. Second half i was too busy watching AD and our D blitzing and putting on pressure to see Kluwe was earning his big paycheck.

QB: C, Jackson and Bollinger both played decent. Bollinger was better. TJ almost had two picks. I do not remember Bollinger throw a bad pass. The main difference between the two is that Bollinger can throw the deep ball. Jackson is just not ready. This is the first time I have said this. I still hope he can be that guy but right now he is not.
Bollinger might just be our best chance of winning. Fuck did I just say that?! I would like to see him start against Green Bay and maybe even start the rest of the year but I doubt that will happen. Jackson is really worrying me with all these injuries!

RB: A+, Chester you need to hold on to the ball in the redzone if you want to get some carries. I still love both our running backs but I think we need to give Peterson the majority of the carries. He just flat out wears down the defense. Not to mention that he is a threat to take it to the house. The reason we won this game and the Chicago game.

WR: B, I did not really see any dropped balls. I really like our receiving corps and I do not think they are a problem. We need a QB that can get them the ball and is consistent.

TE:
B, Shaincoe needs to be in our passing game. Wait we need a QB. I really think this guy can be a playmaker.

OL: A-, WOW, they can play. They need to do this every game. I think the pass blocking could be better and it needs to be because Kampman and KGB are fast.

DL: A+, Ray Edwards is the MVP for the defense. This guy had his best game as a pro.
The pass rush made the difference in this game.

LB: A, EJ has stepped his game up. He was a monster and my other defensive MVP. Leber also made some nice plays. I did not see Greenway much which is probably a good thing because he was not missing tackles or blowing coverages.

CB: B-, Charles Gordon really made the most of his time. My hat goes off to him. He made a couple plays out there. Cedric also made some nice plays. Marcus was lucky on a couple plays. He got beat by Chambers a couple times. If it was not for a penalty and rivers missing him, oh boy he would have been toast. I still saw some missed tackles. They had a lot of help from our pass rush.

S:
B, Smith made some nice plays but had a dumb penalty. I even saw Tank in there making a play. I think Sharper could have made a few more plays. Again they had a lot of help from our pass rush.

ST: B-, Kluwe played decent but he can be better. Longwell I thought you had that one buddy. What the hell is wrong with our field goal unit. Wake the hell up. Hicks made a half ass effort to make a tackle on that return. I noticed that Birk was held ont that return. It should have been called.

Coaching: B, I liked the play calling and the fact that Chilly did not waste timeouts on challenging a couple plays. I hope Chilly learns from his mistakes and runs AD in the second half o the Green Bay game. Look at what AD did in the 2nd half of this game. Peterson had only 43 yards in the first half of the Charger game. Run AD! 2 minute drill needs to get better. This could lose us a few games down the stretch. We should run more screens.

Overall: B+, I hope we can play like this against Green Bay. We still need a QB to lead this team.
