listening to KFAN this morning with PA and Dubay talking to Joe Senser, it seems the inside word is that McKinnie will be signed either today or tomorrow. Of course that doesn't give a time when he will start, but if he was signed as speculated then I wouldn't expect to see him start until at least the Giants game at the very earliest.
This would then allow the O line to have Kelly move to RT and allow Liwienski back to LG which is going to help with having players at their more natural positions.
I've not been one of McKinnie's greatest fans since all of this saga started but it would be good to get this business done and dusted. I'm also convinced that this indicates that the sale of the Vikes is also close to completion. McCombs will happily pay out the money that McKinnie's agents are after as he will then just recoup the money within the sale price. In that way the new owners get McKinnie signed before the deadline so that he is not lost to the team, McCombs is not out of pocket and McKinnie does take the chance of dropping down to a lower position in next years draft.
So it will be time to see if the 'Mount' is the real deal at pro level ... watch this space
