Word has it that Rod Davis our 5th round pick in this years draft will get some playing time against Detroit. This was the guy who called himself the "SOD" of the 2004 draft. This guy was a beast in College and many draft experts predicted him to go in the 2nd round. So let's see what you got Rod!

I am all for Rod showing us something...he can only make our defense that much better...it needs all the help that it can get.

linebacker. Come on man you didnt know that?

My prediction is he wont do that much, prolly get a few tackles and thats it. No big expectations from him yet.

Yes, but word has it that Rod is on the slow side. Slow might cut it in college, but in the NFL where all of the skill players are faster, he might not be able to hang. Here's hoping Rod is a "playa".

anything to "shake up" this defense. Whatever they do its not like they could be worse!

Well I just read the Detroit offense is ranked 31st... So if our defense can't play well against them then obviously we have bigger problems to fix. I expect to see better play from them this week. I mean yes we haven't looked that good especially the last two games but look at the offenses we played against. Indi is just crazy and Green Bay has a good o-line and we had some sparks of great play along with the really horrible play but we need to be able to play against the good offenses I think we just need a little more time to click and get rid of those mistakes. Yes it sounds like they again are shaking up who is playing where on defense they also said they have simplified it even more to eliminate some of the stupid mistakes that are being made so hopefully this makes a difference and playing against the last ranked offense should help. Although it sounds like they are benching Harrington in favor of the backup at least that is what is being said so that could screw us we always seem to play shitty against backups that come off the bench.

I didn't see him enough to make a decision. I have read and heard good things about him though so hopefully he will add a spark. Look at Spencer Johnson they put him in last week rotating with Hovan and Williams and he got like 7 tackles - Williams only had one tackle and Hovan had 2 and an assist so maybe some new blood add's a needed spark. It will be interesting to see if Spencer has the same type of game this week. Remember when Dontarious Thomas was put in to middle linebacker because ej got hurt and he played really well that first game he was forced to play but he hasn't really played stellar since hopefully that won't be the case with Spencer or with Rod. Doesn't Rod play on special teams for us already on a regular basis? I don't watch special teams much although I should so I really haven't seen how well he plays I guess I will have to reserve my judgement call on Rod until after the game Sunday....

It is too bad that Smith is still having post concussion problems.

Looking forward to seeing what Davis can do!
