Taylor: Peterson's arrival no bother to him (http://www.startribune.com/vikings/story/1200684.html)

In his first public comments since last month's NFL draft, veteran Chester Taylor expressed no concern about the fact the Vikings used the seventh overall selection on fellow running back Adrian Peterson.

Peterson made a good impression on Taylor when the two met for the first time Monday. "He's a nice guy," Taylor said. "He looks up to me as being a vet, and I'm going to help him through all the tough times. Whenever he gets stuck, I'll help him out."

Said Peterson: "He told me to go out there, compete and just work hard. To help improve yourself and help the team win anyway possible. That's what I plan on doing."

I guess everything is just fine and dandy as it should be.

We can all speculate what will happen later in the season, but for now we're good.

"You don't want to break the carries record," fullback Tony Richardson said. "That's not a record you want. You might want to break the yardage record or touchdowns, but you don't want to (set the record for) carries. You won't last in this league."

That's why you saw C-Tay tired towards the end of the season last year.

So everything's honk-dorey in Purple-town.
That's what I'd expect to hear at this time of the year.
It will be very interesting
to see how this all turns out.
Chester had a decent year last year, but Adrian is denstined for greatness.
It will be interesting to see how this one-two punch can coexist.
When Peterson begins cutting into Chester's numbers and taking his touchdowns, I wonder what kind of tune he'll be singing ...

She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night

1st Chorus
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

The rumors flew but nobody know how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night

2nd Chorus
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

Yeah....you know Taylor sat behing Jamal for a number of years, and was looking forward to being the #1 guy.
I think they are both solid talents, but Adrian may be a bit more explosive.

Even if they cant get along in the backfield, Taylor would have to be able to bring us something solid in return, like a receiver.
