Even though it's not official Cofflin is going to be fired from the New York Giants reguardless if they win this week and go to the playoffs but espacially if they don't. I say let's get him. Why not Childress is definately not getting the job done. Let Childress go and lets get Cofflin. The Vikings need him and he could be our answer.

Ummmmm, no.

He is by no means the answer for this organization.

i highly doubt childress will be fired after one year. i dont think i would want cofflin though. if we do get a new head coach, my vote would be for tomlin.

If he's being FIRED from one job, why would we want hire him here? Doesn't make any sense to me.

1st years rarely get axed.

The Wilfs won't move on Childress.

Setting the showdown for the move to LA.

I completely agree.... I think we should snap up Tomlin before someone steals him from us

true that.. after giving away other coaches, and bringing in from the outside (liek we did with tomlin, lol) i'd like to see somebody be hired up from our ranks and be successful (unlike tice)

no thank you to cofflin,

thank you to tomlin. bump chili down to OC and let tomlin call the plays (why now). enybody could do a better job than chili did

Understandable but in Vikings history ist years getting fired is not ver uncommon 1984 Les Skeckel was fired and 1985 it was Bud Grant who came back and left right after the season. Cofflin is a good coach from what I've seen from their play calling with New york. Any ways it's not unheard of to fire a first year if the organazation doesn't like the way he coached his team.

Time and time again....BC isn't going any where.
This was a formative yeat for him.
I realize he didn't do much for us but I think that he will.

Like PPE said, why the hell would we want a fired coach?
Have you seen that team play lately?
With all that talent they look like a bunch of clowns.
Also he has no control over that team.

Personally, I do not care for him.

Beside, why even speculate?
Chilly is not going anywhere.

First off, its Caughlin.. Just watching out for you.. :)

Childress will not be let go after 1 year.. Caughlin couldn't get the job done with all those years of experience.. Childress was a rookie, give him time..

Actually, it's Coughlin.
See the guidelines on corrective spelling.
:P

Please, enough with the "new head coach" talk.
Childress will not and should not be fired after one year.
The man needs time to build his team, a new coaching staff will only serve to create inconsistancy within the Vikings organization.
Something that we as fans have dealt with for several years now.

Patience. ;)

Actually we do have a coach that was fired before.
Childress was fired when he was an assistant coach, not sure when or from where but i read that in the newspaper today.

But it doesnt matter because Childress will be the Vikings coach next year.

Exactly!
So let's drop the "what if's" and the "how about's."

That would be the SECOND HC job that Coughlin got fired from...do we REALLY want a TWO-TIME LOSER to coach the Vikes?

I agree..........but i hope BC does straighten up and finds a way to get the vikings somewhere next year. I dont think he should be calling the plays next year.

Just thought I'd point out, Coughlin (sp?) doesn't do the playcalling.

Why would anyone want Cofflin as our head coach?
Because he did such a great job with the Giants this year.
No Thanks!

Childress will improve next year when he has more experience. And no coach gets fired after one year. It's stupid to even think that.

Besides that I believe Coughlin is a jerk. He has never earned any respect from his players because he is such a head case.

We don't need Colonel Coughlin

There is a reason he was fired by the Giants. You don't cast off a coach after just 1 year who was highly highly praised coming in here, in favor of of one that was booted out the door.

Sticking with the coach the vikes have now is a better option.
Being its childress's first year as a head coach I expected there to be a lot of growing pains.
He's a rookie and will need a couple years to develope.
Bring in another coach now they start all over with a new system and could even have a worse season then this one.

Give me a break.
Firing a first year head coach is very rarely a smart football move.
And if we did, why on earth would we pick up someone who was just fired from their job?

As for the people hopping on the Tomlin bandwagon already, keep in mind that our new DC has coached us to the #32 ranked pass defense in the league.
Let's not enshrine him just yet.

I would take Bill Cowher over Coughlin any day of the week if & when the Wilf decides to replace Childress.

Sounds like this might be his last year in Pittsburgh.

Somehow I have an idea that Cowher will go to Washington to coach the Skins

If you have Strahan, Ominyoora(spelling), Brandon Jacobs, Tiki Barber, Plaxico Burress, Jerermy Shockey, Armani Toomer, Sam Madisson, Gibril Wilson, Will Demps, Eli Manning and Lavar Arrington one the same team and miss the playoffs.. i say your are BAD! :)

For all of the criticism Childress has gotten about not forging good relationships with his players, Coughlin is about 10x worse. I would HATE having Coughlin for our HC.
