He just got released from the patriots.
I think he is a good reciever...better than our #2 or 3

What the heck, they traded for the guy not that long ago.
Its not like they have much better options either.
This doesn't make sense.

Yeah. He's better than some of the Schmucks we got droppin..er...catching the ball now. I'd be OK pickin him up. The only question I have...why did the Pats drop HIM? If the guy is a troublemaker...don't want him. If he has bad habits, we don't have anyone that can fix them...this year. I like his potential, just don't know about the rest.

he was a troublemaker. in one of his first games he fumbled during a big play, belichick took him out, and he's been used rarely since. something clearly was said b/w belichick and gabriel b/c otherwise he would def be still on the team

I believe he hasnt been all that healthy throughout the year.

if i as childress i would jump on this and sign him it cant hurt... worst thing that could happen is he doesnt pan out but definatly a good number 2 reciever

I think it would be a good pick up.
He is better than most of what we have now.

The reason he missed some time was because Bellicheck benched him after a fumble.

I know during the Patriots Colts game a while back Gabriel was dropping passes...correct me if I'm wrong, but one was in the redzone which coulda been a possible touchdown, and another he tipped it and it was intercepted.

ESPN Story..

Claim him ??

I think we should give him a shot.. At least he did good in New England until he apperantly had a fumble on an important play and he didnt play more.. -

I think we should pick him up also, I am a big fan of receivers and this year we havent had much productivity out of ours. In my opinion anyway. I say Claim Him!

I was under the impression we already had a surplus of #2-#3 receivers.

If he's not good enough for a New England team that is short on WR, then he's not good enough for the Vikings.

I would be all for it, as long as we do not take any type of major Cap hit for him

BOTH the Raidahs and Patsies gave up on him in the same year...is he worth the trouble?

What the hell give him a shot...I remember reading that Oakland fans were surprised that he went to the patsies...can it really hurt to bring him in?
If he can catch the ball...sign him up.

If he fumbles, just keep him close to the sideline so it just goes out of bounds.

just heard on WEEI (boston radio) Gabriel back w/ the Raiders

so the raider's get a 5th rd pick after they let the pats borrow him for a couple months. not bad

Why is everyone saying it'd be OK to get this guy?

I watched him a couple times and hes a playmaker, thats what we need, so way is it just OK to get him, sure he had some fumbles or w/e but i'd really like to have him. At least he can catch the ball,

ok the raiders signed him there goes that idea

Minnesota should pick him up. Or at least give him a try out. He has to have some off the field problems for the Pats to dump him.

The Raiders acted quicker then we could as they claimed him, so not only do they get the 5th round pick that they traded him for, but they get him back. Seems like a good trade to me. Here is the story.

;he woulda been a great pick up but i guess it went away to quick.

like the raiders need more quality WR's.

They will becasue Moss and Porter are both gone at the end of the season.
