I was just wondering if anything has been said about how Tank Williams and with his rehab? I was very excited when he was signed by the Vikes in the off-season. I just ahve not heard much about how he is doing. also with the signing of Dwight Smith and having Greg Blue on the team will there be a spot for Tank next year? 3 SS on the team does not seem possible or can tank move to FS?

I've only seen it mentioned a few times that his rehab was being worked on and he was doing well with it.....I also was happy with the signing, but he has a history of injuries. I'm sure he will be back in camp next year, trying to fight for a spot, and it will be just that, fighting for a spot on the team.....

The last news I saw of him was from an October 28th article in the Tribune;

Road to recovery

Last update: October 28, 2006 – 6:31 PM

Safety Tank Williams, who was placed on injured reserve after fracturing his left kneecap early in training camp, has been doing most of his rehabilitation work in a pool but hopes to be able to begin running in the next few weeks. "I'm hoping to be close to 100 percent before the end of the season," Williams said. "So if I can do that, I'll be good to go."

Williams isn't eligible to return this season, and because he signed a one-year, $900,000 deal with the Vikings in the offseason it's not certain he will return to Minnesota in 2007. "I'd love the opportunity to come back here," he said. "I like the players, like the scheme, the coaches, and so I feel like I fit in well here."

Word on the street is that he is progressing fine and is ahead of schedule (based on a guy that works for me who is friends with him).
I started drilling him with football related questions and he said he didn't know, they were talking about other stuff.
Bottom-line, I put this information one notch above the ballboy's leads.
