I like your enthusiasm, but Robert Tate wasn't a WR.
I would love the other guys getting into the purple this weekend.

Welcome to the site, pal. Glad to have you aboard.

I could be wrong, but
I think Robert Tate started as a wide reciver and got converted into a db. Someone might know for sure

Robert Tate did start out as a WR, they would mention this fact every game he entered as a backup DB if I remember right..

Oh I definitely agree. Chris Walsh is as tough as nails, he would be unstoppable over the middle. Matthew Hatchett could run a decent route and had tons of speed and didn't drop much. And Troy Williamson makes Kelly Campbell look like an all pro. I remember a few years back it would be Daunte 50 yrd bomb to Kelly Campbell and oh no he drops it, but hey if you want right back to the guy he'd catch the next two deep balls. Also how about we bring back Jeff George to start for us and Leroy Hoard at running back, with this guys and challenge the niners to a re-match. I'm going out on the limb and garunteing at least 20 points. I can see the explosiveness. And no I'm not joking. I'd literally be tempted to give that offense a shot. lol

AND, we could add Scottie Graham as Tony Richardson's backup ;D. J/K but I do wish we had the kind of A++ receiver corps we used to have. Hatchette and Campbell were above average 3rd receivers, now our No. 1 isn't even as good as our old 3rd receivers! >:(

I do not remember all that well, is any second year superstars we passed up after picking Williamson? How about we let Leroy, and Chester rotate at RB get rid of Scotty because we took him back way to many times, and let Kevin (Don't call me Williamson) Williams handle the rock near the end zone. Anyone go deer hunting this past weekend?

i did kind of hate seeing campbell leave =] not because of his recieving abilities, but because of his personality; i LOVED the post game shows with him (and moss when he was around) and the fun they had in the locker room..

oh and being from mankato, one of my favorite memories of him is when i was in a gas station during training camp, campbell came into the place singing and dancing to his walkman =P

Robert Tate was drafted as a wide receiver, he switched to DB after his first season in the league.

It hurts seeing both the vikes & randy struggling, we need eachother.

I don't think we need each other. Players come and go but the franchise stays. The Vikings were around long before Randy got here and will be here long after.

I would love to have a healthy Kelly Campbell back in purple.. He was always fun to watch, he had such explosiveness for a little WR.. If healthy, I would rather have him then McMullen, T. Taylor, and probably even T. Williamson..

I just miss the days when our offense was actually good and our WR's could actually catch balls.
What are we going on now 9 quarters with no offensive touchdowns?
Pathetic.

Wow are you serious, i see these guys are still in the NFL.. They benefited from having Randy Moss, Cris Carter, around them..
Chris Walsh was a ST beast but otherwise never cracked the starting lineup..

We could've had Matt Jones at #18 and gotten Derrick Johnson with the #7 pick that year...we would have been MUCH better off...especially since we wouldn't have had to pick Greenway with this year's #1 pick and could've gotten someone like...oh...DeAngelo Williams!!!

That was courtesy of DG that he never had more playing time. There were times when he did get onto the field for an offensive play and very rarely did he let the team down in those instances. Don't think that he wasn't up to the job as he was, many of the WRs we've had in recent years couldn't get even close to matching up.

Robert Tate, Chris Walsh, Matthew Hatchett, Kelly Campbell

You really think that this group would be any better than the group of wide receivers we have now?

I think you are mistaken, and the only one that I would want on the team is Chris Walsh!

Do you mean in their prime?
Then hell ya!

But then I would also wish for Fran Tarkenton in his prime, how about Joey Browner in his prime, then how about Scott Studwell, Gene Washington, Steve Jordan, Chris Doleman, Keith Mallard, Alan Page, Jim Marshall, Carl Eller, Jack Del Rio, Matt Blair, Chuck Foreman, Sammy White, Jeff Seimon, Tommy Kramer, Robert Smith, Ahmad Rashad, Paul Krause, Bobby Bryant, Ron Yary, Ed White, John Randal, Korey Stringer, Darren Nelson, Randal McDaniel, Joe Sensor, Stu Voight, Gary Zimmerman, Karl Kasulke, John Gilliam, Henry Thomas, Audry McMillian, Ed McDaniel, Joe Kapp, Todd Stuessie, Warren Moon, Gary Larsen, Dave Osborn, Mick Tinglehoff, Mitch Burger, Jeff Christy, Faud Reviez, Stu Voight, Bill Brown, Carl Lee, Brian Williams & Randal Cunningham!

With you already mentioning Cris Carter, Randy Moss and Anthony Carter and then add Darren Sharper, Antoine Winfield, Kevin Williams, Pat Williams, Steve Hutchinson, Matt Birk and Bryant McKinnie, Chester Taylor from the current team and have them all in their prime!

What a team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
