View Full Version : Week 9= The perfect time to get our offense on the right track!

Everyone knows our offense has a lot of work to do, especially after last night.
;D

But in my opinion, this is the perfect time for us to have a great game offensively.

The San Francisco 49ers are giving up 33.6 points per game, and are easily one of the worst, if not the worst defense in the NFL. Now I don't know about you, but I expect the Vikings offense to have a field day this Sunday. If we can't put up a lot of points against the 49ers defense, there's something wrong.

I think it's going to be a while before our offense becomes consistent, but you have to start somewhere.

Let's ROCK in the next 4 weeks and we will be 8-3...perfectly set up for the stretch run!!!

Heck yah!
Since we lost to the Pats...there is an 80% chance we will beat the 49ers.
Right Del?

Yep but if we would have won we would have most definately lost to the 49ers!

That sounds right.

SF, GB, Mia and Ari: Combined record = 7-22

I see it as this (as a realist)

SF ~ Win (Should win, go 5-3)
GB ~ Win (GB is looking better, but we can handle them (6-3)
Miami ~ Win (A team that is looking forward to draft day, the D is good tho, 7-3)
Arizona ~ Win (Another team in shambles; 8-3)
Chicago ~ Loss (We do have a chance as shown in week 3, but Bears should win; 8-4)
Detroit ~ Win (Easy, lets not get overconfident, after the possible Bears loss, our boys will be pissed & focused; 9-4)
Jets ~ Win (Decent Jets team, should win, 10-4)
GB ~ Win ( See above, 11-4)
Rams ~ Pick em' (could go either way, 12-4 or 11-5)

Looks about right to me. Sad that people can bitch about a 12-4 season or an 11-5 season.

Now if drop a game to the 9ers or the cards. I would be affraid. Until that happens I can't cry about the record.

We are in the 'easy' section of our schedule like has been mentioned before.
The Bears go into the tougher part of their schedule where the have to beat the Jints, Jets and Patriots in their house followed by hosting the Vikings.
Anything could still happen, but it's an uphill climb for the Vikes with a three game deficit going into week 8.

I agree with the outline above!

Lets roll back the clock 2 weeks ago.....
coming off of the bye week, everyone was saying...2 tough games....and after that it is a cake walk....if we could JUST figure out a way to win 1 of the 2, that would be cake.
Folks...they did that!

2 days ago, the board was worried that the Coach Tomlin would be scooped up away from us as a head coach somewhere, now half of the board is looking for the "falling sky".

There is no doubt....we got lit up by a better, more prepared team.
Those "better" teams are far and few between for the remainder of the season.
The Vikes can use this time to beat up on the weak and learn to play tough!
The Steelers were lit up by the Pats last year during the regular season.
They were NOT the best team last year, but they won down the stretch and beat one team at a time....
it can be done!

I say relax and beat up on the schedule we were given!
We have some GOOD quality wins behind us.
Seattle was huge!
The Redskins were picked by many to go deep in the playoffs....their record does not currently show how good that team is.... Another quality win!
Carolina was another quality win!
We were a botched QB to RB exchange away from running out the clock against the team that most of the nation has crowned as the team to beat!

I will be at the SF game this coming weekend and will post pictures of the 49er faithful leaving the game in the forth quarter!
SKOL!

As a realist, I think you are being overly optimistic.
Here is my breakdown:

SF, GB, Miami, Arizona ~ All winnable games... but overconfidence is a killer.
I say we win three of these four.
7-4
Chicago ~ Loss
7-5
Detroit ~ Win 8-5
Jets ~ Pick em' (could go either way, 8-6 or 9-5)
GB ~ Win 9-6 or 10-5
Rams ~ Pick em' (could go either way, 9-7 or 10-6 or 11-5)

This puts us somewhere between 9-7 and 11-5, which would probably mean the difference between a playoff birth or not.
I will split the difference and predict a 10-6 finish and a number 6 seed in the playoffs.

Nothing on the schedule looks "easy" for this team (other than the lions).
Not a shot at the vikes but I say more realistically we spilt 50/50 the rest of the way.

I agree with your projection. My biggest fear is that our offense plays down to the level of the opposition. Once we get a 4 point lead we will go in to our super conservative play-calling and hope the defense holds.

We HAVE to get Memo a few more touches per game. Taylor is doing an awesome job as the featured back but switching up a few Memo runs in there won't hurt. Memo has big play ability and looked like he was back in form yesterday. I'm sure he can make a difference with a limited number of touches.
