Good move by Brad. If preseason is any indication of decency, he could play some for us this year. A lot of people were high on him after his preseason went well. Maybe we'll see a few snaps here and there over the next few weeks with the injury bug hitting us.
:D

I wouldn't expect him to actually do anything other than go in here and there maybe a few weeks from now. I would be pleasantly surprised if he did much if anything but its nice to know that other teams cant come snatch him up now.

FINALLY!!! I liked him so much i had him on the first 53 active roster and was surprised when he didnt made it.

Its going to be intresting to see if he will get playing time and if so, what he will do with his opportunity to shine.

It appears this is a step in the right direction.

This is good news.
I was surprised when they let him go in the first place.

??? This is not new news. He was added yesterday I believe. He was active for the Patriots game & on the sidelines.

This was posted yesterday before the game though.
I didn't see the thread until tonight.

They should have put him out there for a few plays in garbage time at the end...it couldn't have hurt us any!

Hopefully, he will see some action next week!

:-[ LOL! I opened up the thread & thought this was the only page.

I couldn't see page one at the bottom of the thread. It's that damn black text!

He was cut to make room for Rod Davis...WTF.

http://vikingsnow.blogspot.com/

Childress must not like the kid or something or he isn't doing something right cause they keep messing with him, we have alot of linebackers who could fill in for Harris. Thomas, Farwell, Glenn, we released Cooper, who is very speedy and knows the Tampa 2.

I don't, once again agree with the roster moves the staff is making.

Harris' injury must be worse than we think. They probably need linebacker depth.
Too bad, I like Carter, he obviously practiced well enough to make the squad for Monday. He passed waivers once, he'll probably do it again. I predict we'll see him on the field before the years out. Especially if the other receivers keep stinking it up like they have.

Vikings bring back linebacker Davis (http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/news/state/minnesota/15904890.htm)

Associated Press

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The Minnesota Vikings signed linebacker Rod Davis on Wednesday, bringing back a player they released right before the regular season.

Starting middle linebacker Napoleon Harris (dislocated wrist) is hurt and listed as questionable for Sunday's game at San Francisco. If Harris can't play, strong-side starter Ben Leber could move to the middle or backup Dontarrious Thomas could start, too.

Either way, Davis - a fifth-round draft choice by Minnesota in 2004 who appeared in one game with Carolina this season before being cut - will add some depth.

To make room on the roster, the Vikings stashed receiver Jason Carter back on the practice squad. Carter was elevated to the active roster in Monday's game against New England.

Ahhh! Pretty weak merging a Rod Davis thread with the Jason Carter Activated thread.
It's completely the opposite. Carter was de-activated ;D

Didn't you read Del's post?

It's pretty tough for Carter. Maybe we should rename him 'The Elevator Kid'

besides the "elite" wr's.. very few make it to active rosters that are picked up after 1/2 rounds.

I would luv to see J.carter playing just cause i like what he did in pre-season.. and he's got the skills to be a good wr. I'd be suprised if b.chill tossed him now.. but would really be suprised if we dind't see him take the field some time this year.

i bet that next year he'll be a staple in the O..
