I didn't see any threads about this, so here I go.

I like these a lot more than I like the ugly purple pants, the combo of those and the god awful Buffalo uniforms almost gave me a seizure.

I think we should wear these for the rest of the season. They really look great.

I completely agree with you on this one.
I was thinking about starting a thread myself about this topic.
I think the white on white looks really good, and it is a hundred times better than the white jersey/purple pant combo.

I found some pics of the purple ones, Idk why but the pictures from NFL.com wouldn't work.

Doesn't white look a lot better? And we lost when we were wearing the uglies.

I have tried to give the uniform change some time "to grow on me"....but it just hasnt.
I do like the slight change of the horn logo on the helmet..... but I like the old school uniforms much better.

These uniforms are just to "commercial" for my taste.....
simple traditional is not always a bad thing.

The white pants are definantly better then the purple ones, but overall I like the new uniforms.

I just think that people are not used to them. When you are used to being one way and then you change. It just doesn't
look right. Rememebr when the new Jerseys cam out alot of people were not real happy with them now you do not hear that many saying that they do not like them. Plus if I remember right, I thought the Purple pants was a couple of games a year type of thing

Ok maybe a little bit. As long as they play like they did today I don't care what Uniforms they wear

I'm pretty sure they wore the white pants instead of purple because the Seahawks have dark blue pants.

When the opponent has white pants, you'll probably see the purple pants.

can anyone try to photoshop a uniform so we can see what purple on purple might look like?

The purple pants are just butt-ugly.

I understand your logic, but we wore purple pants in Buffalo. In that game Buffalo had dark blue pants on as well. I think they switched up the pants just on a whim.

I've been watching the new uni's pretty close this year.
I thought I was going to like the purple pants better, but those actually looked pretty good today IMO....maybe even better.

I liked the white pants on the road unis also.

I don't mind the purple pants, but like I said before the purple socks gotta go.
They need to be white at the top and purple at the bottom so there is a break in the purple at the knee.

white on white did look classy today. the purple pants might work with white socks, but only against against opponents with dark pants..purple on purple would look horrid..i think seattle & buffalo home uni's look rubbish..

& out of curiosity, what's with teams like jax & philly doing the away uni's at home (like dallas & washington)...seriously, just make home uni's home & away kept away..god it's annoying!!

Mr. Zeus's Best Dresses List:

1.
Purple on White.
The best look.
I don't have any issues with the new jersey and the purple on white is the best combo.
2.
White on White.
Yesterday's look was outstanding and they played like it.
3.
White on Purple.
It's okay, but I'm not a huge fan.
4.
Purple on Purple.
Please God, no.

That said - I would not be shocked to see them go Purple on Purple next Monday night.
Yikes.

I agree with you on everything except for #3, I really dislike the purple pants, it might just be the way they look on TV, but they're too shiny, it's like a metallic purple, and I think it looks terrible. If they have purple pants, they should be the same color as the jersey.

Stick with #1 and #2, they're amazing.

I liked the white on white combo yesterday.
I have to admit that I was not a fan of our previous white on white scheme, and I was rpetty excited for the white on purple aways... but as has been mentioned already, they need to lose the purple socks to make them look right.
If they used the purple pants with white socks, I would be happy.

I don't think we need to worry about purple on purple.
It is not listed as one of their uniforms, while the white on white is (alternate uniform combination).

What if that opponent loses their starting QB during the 3rd quarter?
Does the win still count since we didn't beat their best team?

That is more of a legitimate question than what type of outfit you wear.
Do you spend more time looking in the mirror before you go out to play football or studying the playbook?

I think we should go purple on purlple and add a little neon pink to accessorize (shoes, gloves, mouth guards0..
Kind of like the seattle dayglo lime green thing.

Now that would be hot... look out oppenents, how can you beat a team with fashion sense like that.
Like my high school assistant coach said, you look good you feel good, you feel good you play good.
Okay, I didn't say he was a great coach.

ballhog27
10-23-2006, 10:13 AM
He I think that it looked cool, but to the guy that responded about adding Pink to the uniforms, we already have a color that does not necessarily show power in today's society. I know purple has a conotation for royalty but it does also have a different meaning in the hear and now. Than you got a guy saying that we should have it outlined in PINK? unbelievable. Any way white on white was cool and purple on purple would be just as neat but no more adding of colors.

I guess it is a good indicator of how hard they're working.
I'll have to develop a program for analyzing the degree of butt sweat and then try to correlate it to their performance on the field.
You may be onto something.

Out of the mix? (http://www.startribune.com/blogs/vikings/?p=217)

by Judd Zulgad

After some digging we believe we have gotten to the bottom of what happened to the Vikings’ purple pants. Despite the fact the Vikings were supposed to wear those bottoms on the road this season, they were wearing white pants with their white jerseys on Sunday in Seattle.

Quite simply the purple pants might be taking the bulk of the blame for the Vikings’ loss to the Bills. Here’s how we figure it. The Vikings opened the season at Washington wearing their home purple jerseys and white pants because the Redskins are in white at home.

The Vikings, of course, won that game. The purple pants made their debut in Week 4 at Buffalo and the Vikings lost 17-12. It was Brad Childress’ decision to go back to the white pants on Sunday at Seattle. The Vikings came away with a 31-13 victory.

What do you want to bet those purple pants don’t see the light of day when the Vikings travel to San Francisco on Nov. 5?
