i was up at training camp for their afternoon practice today, and during the kickoff return drills many of the players were sitting along the sidelines just watching. Anthony Herrera was doign what he needed to cool down - the big offensive lineman was walking around with out his shirt on pouring water over his head. He yelled to a trainer or assistant or what ever he was, "can you get me my shirt or somethin'" Good Ol' Matty Birk - not missing a beat - responded "get somethign to cover yourself up, theres kids here"

everyone with in earshot of the sideline was laughing :lol:

Were they doing the kicking on the field next to the bleachers or were they still in the middle and far side ?

they were set up just like a real kick off, with people lined up on each side of the kicker - at first they'd just kick it, a ball boy or manager or whatever would catch it while the special teams players ran out like 20 yards then stopped lol.

then they started practicing returns and had people go out w/ those blue pads, the returned would just run up to the wedge and they'd blow the whistle

um, i cant remember if he was in there first or not, but i saw him do a few returns and looked like he was quick to get up in there, unfortunatly once the returners would get to about the wedge they'd blow the whistle so you didnt really get to see what he's completely made of. from what i saw he looked like he was doing well though

The quote of the day that I found published;

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Vikings defensive end Kenechi Udeze matriculated at Southern Cal. But he has two brothers with college ties in Minnesota.

One went to the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, then to law school at the University of Minnesota. The other went to Carleton College in Northfield, one of the most prestigious private schools in the Midwest.

"They were all scholars," Udeze said. "I was just a jock."
