View Full Version : Vikings Schedule

New poster to the forums. I have been reading posts on this site for awhile, and finally decided to join. Very painless process, except my confirmation email went to my bulk box. It is nice to read posts by fellow Vikings fans, they are few and far between here in Marland.

I didn't want to create a topic just to introduce myself, so I decided to give you my breakdown on the Vikings season. It's not like I'm an expert or anything, but I follow the NFL fairly closely, I guess you could say more than the average fan.

I was looking at the schedule and it seems rather difficult. Maybe one of the toughest, particularly the first 6 of 7 games, excluding Detroit. I think it is important the Vikings get off to a good start. Looking closer, I think they need to be going into the bye week at 3-2. It's possible, I think they are capable of beating Detroit and Buffalo, and hopefully get that third win against Chicago. Carolina and Washington will be tough. We can't seem to beat those teams lately.

After Bye

Wins against San Fancisco, Arizona, Detroit, NY Jets, St.Louis, Miami, and Green Bay.

Losses to New England, Seattle, Chicago, Green Bay

If they could do that it would put us at 10-6. But that would require them to win 8 of the 9 last games. It could easily go either way. At least we will know what kind of team we have at the end of the season.

Anyway, I will be attending the opening game against the skins, so I am very excited for this season to begin.

Sep 11 @Washington 7:00pm
Sep 17 Carolina 1:00pm
Sep 24 Chicago 1:00pm
Oct 1 @Buffalo 1:00pm

Oct 22 @Seattle 4:15pm
Oct 30 New England 8:30pm
Nov 5 @San Francisco 4:05pm
Nov 12 Green Bay 1:00pm
Nov 19 @Miami 1:00pm
Nov 26 Arizona 1:00pm
Dec 3 @Chicago 1:00pm

Welcome G...

If Brad Johnson stays healthy, I believe we can control the ball enough to actually sweep our division. The only thing is, I have a sick feeling that we could lose to Miami, St. Louis and Arizona in addition to your other predictions.

Hey Welcome to the site, And about your predictions i pretty much agree with you, i think we should win the division this year and get around 10 to 11 wins. Hope we are right

loss to green bay? that surely wont happen with green bay having a worse team this year than last considering how disgraceful their offensive line will be..favre will only be appearing in one game this season against the vikings

Welcome aboard !! I doubt whether Ultra will find you over here with the free virtual beer. Maybe you can meet up with other PP.Oer's at the Skins game and have a real one with some PP.Oer's. I understand quite a few will be there and plan on tailgating together.

Here's how I see it...

Sep 11 @Washington...Won't be able to stop dynamic offense...Loss

Sep 17 Carolina...Good offense, great defense...Loss

Sep 24 Chicago...Great D, If we shut down the run and force Grosman to make plays we can pull it off...Win

Oct 1 @Buffalo...No offense, poor D, plus TKO wontg be 100%...Win

Oct 8 Detroit...Poor D, pretty bad offense but it has some potential...Win

Week 6 BYE

Oct 22 @Seattle...Good offense, defense got a lot better with julian peterson...Loss

Oct 30 New England...skill positions are decen tbut Brady makes them great, their defense has been raped and pillaged lately in free agency and because of injuries, but coaching staff somehow finds ways to win...Loss

Nov 5 @San Francisco...terrible offense, even worse defense...Win

Nov 12 Green Bay...Offense, what offense? defense is improved but not good enough...Win

Nov 19 @Miami...If Culpepper plays like he did last year, easy win...if he plays like the culpepper of 2 years ago, loss

Nov 26 Arizona...Good offense but no line, defense still has a lot of holes...Win

Dec 3 @Chicago...Split series...Loss

Dec 10 @Detroit...Win

Dec 17 N.Y. Jets...probably second worst team in the leage(49ers are worse)...Win

Dec 21 @Green Bay...Win

Dec 31 St. Louis...Defense isnt good enough...Win

That means 10-6 or 11-5 depending on the Miami game

Sounds good to me.

Welcome. There are many 9-7er prognosticators on this site. It will be a tough start, but when they gel look out. A team to be reckoned with.

I'm solidly in that camp. And let me tell you, it's pretty stinky down there among the tents. Time for a fire-truck to come by and hose us all down.

Agreed, 9-7 seems like the realistic season. Even though it pains me to say, the Green&Gold always seem to get 1 from us regardless of talent (with the exception of last year.)
