I say its probably Anthony Carter. I know he didnt do it seemingly unless we were in the playoffs, but he was awesome. Remember how he lit up the Saints in the playoffs bout 10 years ago?

He may not have been our best, but my all-time favorite was Troy Walters. I really liked him, and I still try to keep up with how he is doing with the Colts. I think he got hurt in the preseason last year, and I was sad to see that he missed the entire season.

I think David Palmer was pretty exciting - too bad he got hurt and retired so young.

My pick would be AC also, but Eddie Payton was on the brink of stardom.

I'll take David Palmer, because of consistency. It seemed like he took very few to the house, but it felt like he was always capable of breaking one every time he touched the ball. Overall, he seemed to get good, positive yardage on every attempt.

David Palmer has to be it.

I miss David Palmer, but didn't Moss have 2 TD's in less than 10 total punt returns (I could be very wrong there, but I know he was effective when used). That's pretty efficient.

Moore's not bad right now, neither was Burleson.

Jacquet and Walters were both weak.
Walters is doing alright with the Colts now, but he wasn't very good for us.

Well Troy Walters is with Arizona Cardinals now. He will do the same there. Dennis was the one that picked him up.

I thought that Eddie was JUST a KICKOFF return man...I don't seem to remember him returning punts.

It certainly wasn't Herschel Walker. Do you remember those fumbles and muffed punts? What a waste of talent putting him back there.

David Palmer for sure, but I'll have to say this, it was very electrifying to watch Koren return kick-offs last year.

I hope he pulls the same duty this year, he is a very speical kickoff returner......

Go Get Um KOREN

Eddie Payton led the team in punt returns from 1980 to 1982. Not as high of an average as Palmer and never ranked higher than 13th in the league.

Leo Lewis ranked much better, leading the team from 1987 to 1991 and ranked as high as 5th in the NFL (1987). In 1988 he had what at the time
(through 2004) was a team record 550 yds. He is also the team career yardage leader with 1,812. David Palmer leads with 2 career touchdowns.

Payton was very exciting to watch..I didn't know the stat line for him.
I remember him being asked what it was like having such a famous brother....Eddie replied....I dunno ....go to Chicago and ask Walter

After seeing the stats, I say Palmer hands down...too bad he got injured so early in his career.

Yah, Moss is very good at it.. Just didn't wanna risk losing your potential hall of fame WR due to a punt/kick return
