Oh Thank God that the premier football authority has finally spoken!

Its what we've been waiting on . . . what will yahoo say about football?

Or more specifically some recent college graduate with as much inside knowledge as anybody else.

We are off an running now.

Cant take this to serious, pre season rankings in the NFL are hogwash, you never know who will step up.

Kindof mixed up the Vikes and Bears . . . a little bit.

I think he's underestimating the Vikes. The first part was correct "The Vikings are loaded with talent" But flying under the radar...I like that!

There is no reason for any rakings to be out yet. There are still trades and signings going on.

I don't put much faith in any rankings until a few games of the season have passed, and you can figure out how teams are playing. Of course the teams that were good last year, and didn't lose much in free agency will be picked at the top of the pack in the pre-season ranks.

When did any of these amount to anything we could call a prediction of the seasons strongest teams. It seems like there is always someone trying to satisfy the news hunger of the starved NFL fan during the off season. I am personally happy when they rank the Vikings low because they don't carry any weight anyway.

I'd put us at around 4th right now. I wanna see how the team does with a whole new coaching staff and Johnson running the show from the start.

I'd expect playoffs, with a chance of doing something. I think 2007 is our year.

19-0 would be nice though!!!!

Last year we were always in what, the top 5 of the Power Rankings? Top 7 at least?

Yeah, rankings mean shit, last year was supposed to be "our year", 1998 was supposed to be "our year", 2001 was "our year"....Man at least we aren't the Chicago Cubs (yet).

These rankings mean nothing. We will prove ourselves in week 1!

Are you telling me journalists are so desperate for articles that they rank trades and drafted players before they even train with the teams?!

Wow.. You NEVER see that kind of blunt analysis outside the States. And with good reason.. You're only going to look stupid in February when someone on a messageboard/in a conference/in a competing newspaper pulls out your pre-season prediction and shows you how wrong you were.

best part of his lasts years rankings

5. Seattle Seahawks – Wide receiver Koren Robinson's departure is going to be a good thing in the long run. He did far more harm than good to the Seahawks last season – both on and off the field.

Panthers at number 7 is stupid (at least in the top 4).

I like how he begins the #2 Seahawks with "Nate Burleson is a nice addition ...". I have nothing against Nate, but how the hell does that give the 'Hawks a #2 pre-season ranking?!

I agree. This guy has a NFC east lovefest going on. He has 1 maybe of the top 4 teams right. I dont pay to much attetnion to this guy anyways.

I think they are a solid pick to do well.

They have offensive weapons.

They play good D.

They made some additions that D, like Arrington that could make them even more potent.

Who knows, but a team in the East seems a solid pick. I think when looking at the NFC you have to gamble and take one of the NFC East teams to win this year.

The only correct thing about this is the last five teams.

Yeah, but those teams aren't even close. Stevie Wonder could stare at the TV and tell you they suck. We could make our own list, draw names out of a hat, and even the hat would look at us like we're idiots. "I might be a hat, but I'm not retarded; the 49ers are the worst team in the NFC." At least i think that's what it would say.

What he says about us in that article should and will apply to alot of teams this year. Both New York (Giants) and Washington have added a handfull of a new starters. Both of those teams are immediatly picked to go far and deep in 07. We all thought the same thing here. It takes a while, and all those players they added arnt gonna "gell" right away. The thing I like about our team is we have a gelled defense. That will see IMO 1-2 new starters. (Greenway, Tank IMO) I think we have a great mix of young and old here. We have great Vetern players in key roles and young up and coming studs along side of them. I think this year we'll start to see what this team will be doin for years to come.
