Thats officially the end of Johnstone. He was great for us but maybe its time to part ways. Hope this guy brings the same things

He doesn't sound amazing to me, but he doesn't really sound like a scrub either. We don't need a million big name people, we just need players that can do their job!

He will effectively replace Lanc Johnstone on the roster as a 3rd down pass rusher.

This is crap. This guy has nothing on Johnstone. An obvious downgrade when it comes to 3rd down pass rusher.

#78 DeQuincy Scott | DE
Full Name: DeQuincy Scott

La Place, LA
Height: 6-1
Weight: 260 lbs.

Age: 28
Pos: DE
Experience: 4 years
College: Southern Miss

2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 65 | Key
Alert: None

Comment:
Motor on his pass rush - comes off quick and works to finish. He shows solid quickness coming off of stunts. He is a high motor player - solid effort playing the run and the pass. Can penetrate and disrupt vs. the run. He is an undersized player that relies strictly on his quickness. Has never been an every down player. Can lose his balance on his pass rush when he has contact. Struggles to get off blocks and counter when linemen get their hands on him. Will fly up the field past the draw. Struggles to adjust angle at times if the QB steps up into the pocket.

I like this signing. He is a very underrated player that has been stuck in a system that just isn't a good fit for him. He is a 4-3 DE, but has been stuck in the Chargers 3-4 the past few years. He played pretty well for them when they ran a 4-3.

He will give us a good 3rd down rusher. I will suck to see Johnstone go though.

good to solidify our Dline, if James and Udeze can develop then we might have to draft a DE to compete cause its been 2 times since drafted Udeze been injured.

He is still young and from the Chargers fans (via glorifythepas website) it sounds like he wanted to leave SD to get back to a 4-3 defense which he is better suited for his skills.
