It forcused far more on his legal and political career than it did his football career.
There were several things said about the time he spent with the Vikes that really surprised me. How he didn't get along with his teammates, etc. And then the Vikes let him go because of a weight loss but he still was an outstanding defensive tackle with Chicago.
A lot of it delt with his perception of unfairness to the Aferican American community, especially in education.

I watched it with my 2 boys last night and enjoyed it. Watching the old clips of the Vikings playing at the Met was awsome. My boys couldn't believe I how excited I was to see all of that and they asked me so many questions. Old Allan is quite the man found out alot more about the man away from football. :headbang: :occasion5: It was a real cool evening.

The NFL Network also will be showing a piece on the Vikings on Saturday about the gold mine Jim Marshall and others are involved in. I believe it airs at 2:00 PST. They also had a one hour "in their own words" yesterday on Cris Carter.

It was a bad ting, ta let 'im go, but, he was losin' too much weight from his jogging program. Bud Grant wanted 'im ta stop losin' so much weight, an' he wouldn't do it. What else wuz dey supposed ta do, y'know? Kind of an ego 'ting dere, I guess. But, dat stuff happens.

Good program. He is a very smart man and we are lucky that he settled for good in Minnesota.

One of the truly deserving HOF'ers before it became a popularity contest.

Yeah, Bud didn't think he could play at 220...but Page could do anything he wanted to. My opinion, he was the best to ever play DT...quick as lightning. It always bothers me seeing him in the Bears #82 uniform. But he's tops on and off the field.

He was definitely one of the best. He certainly proved to everyone he could play at 220.

I don't think so...his quickness was better served in the middle of the line. He would usually disrupt the play before it developed...many times he was past the guard so fast he was almost taking the handoff from the QB.

That show basically sums up why Page is my role model. Anyone, no matter if you are a football player or not, will enjoy watching the hour long show about a badass man. Don't just watch it, TiVo it, because you are going to want to see it again, and again, and again.

Alan Page is a class act.
He has defined success for a football player after football.
He attended college to learn and play football.

NFL.com

on the home page, you can watch the alan page story.

I don't know how long the clip is actually. I watched about a minute of it.

On the right hand side of the home page there is a section that is NFL TA videos and a video player to watch them on.

Chavous is on there.
Cris Carter "In His Own Words" is on there.

It is a neat selection of videos. Use the more videos pull down menu to find more.
