JOHNSON RETURNS – Brad Johnson made his 1st Vikings start since 1998 vs. Detroit (11/6). Johnson threw his 1st career TD pass at the Metrodome vs. Detroit in the opening game of 1996. His 52 touchdown passes as a Viking ranks 6th all-time in the team record books (Warren Moon with 58 ranks 5th). Including playoffs Johnson has thrown 158 touchdown passes for 26,417 yards in a career that began back with a Viking as a 9th-round choice in 1992. Johnson holds a 20-8 mark in his 28 career starts for
the Vikings and has a 63-41 regular-season record as a starter. Johnson has led all 3 NFL teams he has played for to the playoffs and led Tampa Bay to the Super Bowl XXXVII title over Oakland.
Johnson became the 51st player in NFL history to eclipse the 25,000 career passing yards mark at Detroit (12/4) and passed the 150 career TD mark (currently 151). He stands 62nd in NFL history with the 151 TDs. Johnson joins 8 other current NFL QBs with 25,000+ yards (Favre, Testaverde, Bledsoe, Collins, Manning, Brunell, McNair and Plummer).
