Fred Smoot will return this week when the Vikes play the Rams but Smoot will only see action at Nickel

Great! Lets hope he can get back to where he was and play to the level we expected when we loaded him down with a big contract.

Right on! Glad to have him back.. He is definitley better then Ralph Brown..

Lol I remember this summer when that guy came in saying Ralph Brown is better the B-will.. That was too funny!

Good to have Smoot back. Brown is not better than B Will, but I think Brown is playing well --- better than last year... although he had a good game against the Pack in the playoff game.

Hell, this is very good stuff, if there is any way we can keep these four guys our CB spot is fine. Brown has improved ten fold and could probably be a starter on some teams ... and the other three are obviously solid corners ... this is a very good thing coming into a game with the pass-happy Rams.

Actually Tice hasn't made up his mind yet who will be the Dime guy...he has Dovonte and Ralph alternating in practice and he says that they are neck-and-neck for the Dime spot!

I was thinking the same thing.

"Coach. I had a dream."

Good info Cajun, thanks.

We better keep Devonte active! This kid has some real potential, with the proper work we could turn him into a solid DB.

...as long as he doesn't try to sabotage the end of the season with Boat Party part duex!

Something tells me we won't have to worry about that.

I bet Devonte gets the nod cause he is faster than Brown and is excellant on special teams. They will get Ralph some playin time too, but I believe Devonte gets the start. You have speed on speed for better man coverages against the wr corp the rams have so they can't pick our zone apart like in years past.

I hope Smoot just shuts the hell up and just make some plays. He's done a lot of talking but has not produced as we had hoped.

Hopefully after Steve Smith took him to school and served up some humble pie he has learnt to let his game do the talking.

we probably would have lost the packers game at the dome if it wasnt for smoot. they put smoot on driver in the second half and he shut him down after driver had an awesome first half.

exactly. Believe me, the way the scouts of the NFL do their homework, we wouldn't be paying him all that money if he wasn't badazz. Things have changed a lot since smoot last played in a viking uniform.

And don't be suprised if he got his starting job back from B. Williams cause pound for pound, smoot is better than B. Will

This injury was good for smoot.

plus have we heard a remark from smoot yet this week?

nope.

Smoot will get his job back eventually... he has too much talent not to be a starter. B-Will is a solid player, but I like him a lot more as a nickel...especially on blitzes.

Hell yes, great news... just adds more fire power to our defense.

First off, how can anyone say smoot hasnt done anything this year? If your gonna say smoot sucks then you have to say our defense sucks...cuz the time smoot has played for us, was when our defense was still gelling. The return of smoot couldnt be any sweeter, just in time to help shut down the rams pass heavy offense.

as far as Devonte is concerned, I think the kid has really shown great potential and could develope beautifully, and I beleive we will still see him in this game. Hes pretty fast and has done a excellent job so far steppin in here and there. At the giants game, they lined him up against plaxx a couple series, and he helped shut him down. Im really sold on this kid, hes playin great.

all in all I'm glad my boy smoot is back!
