Vikings | Burleson all banged up
Thu, 17 Nov 2005 20:14:02 -0800

The Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings WR Nate Burleson (hip, knee, shoulder) is now being bothered by hip, knee and shoulder injuries. The upper body issues - shoulder and stinger - are believed to be the Vikings' biggest concerns right now. As noted earlier, Burleson was added to the injury report as probable. "Nate is not Nate right now," head coach Mike Tice said. "I need to get him back to being the guy that he is with all that great energy and playmaking ability."

But if Nate isn't Nate right now, then who is he?

The only logical conclusion is that, not only is Nate injured, he was replaced by a less talented government-made clone who happens to be injured as well. This makes sense somehow, despite the fact that it would serve no purpose whatsoever. But anyone who doesn't believe my theory is wrong. WRONG, I tell you!!!

He's listed as probable (75% chance) so I would say yes.

It's possible that Tice is just screwing with Packers too! Not saying that Nate isn't hurt, he probably is, he's a football player, but he might not be as hurt as Tice is leading everyone to think.

I wonder if coaches have ever done that with a superstar player. Like say Randy Moss was banged up a little bit and they make it sound worse then it is. When Moss is out on the field for the first couple series he goes slow and acts like he is really hurt. Then out of no where he goes back to normal and burns em deep. That wouldn't be that bad of and idea.

heck, we gotta do what we gotta do to win this season, maybe using the media to our advantage is the way to go.

Sorry if I scared u guys Nate is gonna be fine somebody just hit him in his left knee and something we didn't here about he has suffered a strained shoulder also in the game sunday against the Giants and he's just resting 2 recover from it. Coach Tice described Nate as banged up to hell.

Star Tribune:

"Burleson said he feels "fine" with the exception of a sore neck.

"I'm assuming I'm playing," he said. "I'm suiting up. Until I hear otherwise, I'm ready to play Monday night."

Vikings | Burleson missed game due to coaching decision
Tue, 22 Nov 2005 13:16:16 -0800

The Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings WR Nate Burleson (hip, knee, shoulder) did not play during Week 11, as he was deactivated before the game. Team trainer Chuck Barta said Burleson did not play due to a coaching decision - not because of injuries that previously slowed him. Burleson agreed that the decision to hold him out was made by the coaches and not due to injury issue, which was a decision he wasn't too thrilled about. There was no indication the decision was discipline-related. On the flip side, Burleson said he was feeling "really good" Monday, Nov. 21, and should be feeling "great" by Week 12.

As much as I love Burleson, man he just hasn't been doing much for us this year. Or for my fantasy team.

Strange..... we won so I guess it doesn't matter. I hope he has a great game against CLE.

I think this recent rash of deactivating guys has something to do with Tice liking some of the guys he has on special teams and some of his practice squad people.

Wasn't he talking about a LB who was going to be hard to sit because he was tearing it up on special teams?

Heath Farrell. Absolute beast on Special teams. Ralph Brown is playing very good special teams too. Raonall Smith and Owens are the other two big Special Team players.
