Looks like Martz may be through in St. Louis. I was curious if anyone had any thoughs on him coaching the Vikings??

Not a big fan of Martz. He neglects the defensive side of the ball.

I heard he was done there as well, he butts head with the owner so this is a good time for them to part ways I guess.

i will say he is a great offensive coach, he would make a good o coach for the vikes, then sign a head coach that is defensive minded, like the de coach for the skins, i think that would complete the package,

Not a big fan of Martz either. He is a good offensive mind, but he makes some bonehead play calls sometimes, especially inside the redzone.

I would much rather have a defensive minded coach like Jimmy Jhonson of the Eagles.

Not as a head coach...he would just be another Denny. Yeah, we would make the playoffs, but we would never win the Super Bowl...no thanks, but I want a SB trophy or two (or more)...so give us a HC that will take us to the Promised Land!!!

I kind of like Martz, but I don't know ... who do you guys want? Everytime someone with a background like Martz is mentioned everyone seems against him. Martz has won a lot of games, and was the real mastermind behind the Super Bowl win in 1999. He is a little ... ok ... a lot ... arrogant at times, but I definitely would not mind him. I still would like Jeff Fisher over him.

i wouldn't mind him being our HC but i'd rather him be our OC. i doubt though however that he'd take the paycut and just become an OC again after the success he's had as a HC.

i dunno about anybody else but there has to be a reason Kiffen and Johnson aren't HC yet, they've been DCs forever. maybe just don't want to deal with the hassel of being the HC.

No way I don't want to see him or Fassel as this teams head coach I would rather just keep Tice then either of them.

Billick might be available after the season at the rate that he is going...but I would only want to hire him as the OC...not the HC!

i think it would be the same thing with Billick, doubt he'd be willing to go back to being an OC after he won a championship, i know it was because of his defense, don't think he'd go back to just being a coordinator though

Mike Martz is mentally challenged! I hope we don't get him. I don't like his play calling decisions. He only thinks of offense and passing.

what bout martz as oc?

mnvikes61

that'd be awesome if Martz be willing to step down from being an HC. we have a lot of weapons that he should be able to use to their full abilities.
just don't see if happening unless his heart condition calls for him to take on less responsiblities.

i dont want anything the rams throw away to come to us. i hate the rams so much. sure martz is a good coach, but hes not a great coach and i dont think he could do anything better than tice is doing. martz may not even be a head coach in the nfl next year. mabye an offensive coorindinator or he might go into college if that path works out for him. mabye he will not come back at all. he is pretty old.

Forget Martz...I like this Eagles guy too. You win championships with defense. Nuff said.

We definitely don't want Herm, unless it's as a motivational speaker.
