Anyone know where we can find any new stories about Toniu Fonoti, where his status stands, whether he is working out with the team, attending practices, meetings, etc? I have been scouring the Vikes site as well as a couple others that I thought might have something, but I have been shut out.

I sure would love to be able to find some video footage from his SD days, etc as well.

What does everyone think or know about this?

Vikings | Fonoti Out for Week 8

Minnesota Vikings OG Toniu Fonoti (hand) is still a week away from practicing and is out for Week 8. Fonoti also needs to lose some serious weight.

Vikings | Fonoti on the Heavy Side; Still Recovering from Broken Hand
Sat, 22 Oct 2005 06:12:13 -0700

Sean Jensen and Don Seeholzer, of the Pioneer Press, report Minnesota Vikings OG Toniu Fonoti (hand) weighed in at 404 pounds, but head coach Mike Tice said the player's size isn't an issue. "We talked about a weight, and I think we're very agreeable on the weight," Tice said. "He's worked hard. He's already lost six pounds since we got him." Fonoti continues to recover from a broken hand and isn't expected to do any heavy work on the practice field for a week or two.

Woah here is a little before and after picture...

I think this was his rookie year

A slightly larger version I would guess a little more recent. Looks like he let him self go a little bit from the earlier pic. I hope this isnt indictive of his overall personal habits and character traits, but I am worried that it probably is. Man I hope this guy can get his stuff together (and he has a lot of stuff!!)

Here he is in action. Big boy indeed.

I saw him during the game... I think. He was the dude with the long braided hair, right?

Well if it was he was HUGE. That guy LOOKS like he is 400 pounds. No where near as much of a beast as Mount Mckinnie, but if we can get Birk back then the Minnesota moving company looks like its back to its old days.

I hope he gets his chance I think he will be a good lineman for the future of our offensive line.

You dont happen to remember when in the game they showed him (ballpark time) as I have it on TiVo and I might try to scan through to see what you are talking about. I watched the 2nd half this morning again just for the sheer enjoyment.

Let me know if you have any idea.

I was at the game so i saw him on the sidelines. Not sure if they showed him on TV. I can see why you watched only the 2nd half though.
