View Full Version : This game is the biggest of the year for both teams.

Whoever loses this game can be sure their season is officially a losing one (barring a miracle). A 1-5 record is just too big of a hole. I'd like to say the Packers will win this game, but anything can happen. Hopefully it will be close either way, so both fans can be entertained until the end. I'll predict 24-14 Packers, but this isn't a flame by any means. It could very well end up the opposite.

I agree. I think that whichever coach loses will be gone by next season and that whatever team wins will win the north.

This is very true. I don't see how either coach is back next season despite this game unless somehow the pack wins the division. The season definitely starts Sunday.

Winner takes the North Division.... Both coaches and their staffs walk the plank.

Yah whoever takes this game wins the divison.. Anyone under doesn't get a wildcard I bet.. So this game is HUGEEEEEEE.. Vikes should take it! That would be huge to get a win.. Expecially against the pack

True!

The Pack will not be able to climb out of a 1-5 hole!

i've been checking out this site since the beginning of the season, reason i like reading some of your topics and views, but to trash players cuz they are in a slump, and then Im sure you;ll be the first one to praise them and proudly wear their jersey, until they go through the same problems.

I think that if we win the game we do go on to win the awfulness that is the NFC North. But that is not enough to save Tice's job barring a miracle playoff run. I still look at our schedule and think that 9-7 is possible, maybe even 10-6 if we win our home games, but somehow I feel like 5-11 is more probable, especially if we don't top the Pack.

I'm hoping this is the breakout game...especially against this team

Bubba, how many threads to you intend to ruin today? Your post has nothing to do with anything. Where did someone trash a slumping player in this thread? What evidence do you have of anyone on this site talking trash on a player and then praising him? Go back to just reading for some peoples topics and views or bring something to the discussion as it pertains to the thread. :sign2:

Dude what the hell? Just cuz people are angry with how some people are playing doesn't meant you need to critisize it..

I hope the Slackers do win it.You can get all excited about going 2-14 or 3-13,even 5-11,who cares. At this point it's just better to keep losing and get a top draft pick.Come draft time you're gonna wish you had lost 1 or 2 more games.Neither the Vikes or the Packers would last in the playoffs against the better NFC teams.Vikes showed that in Atlanta and Chicago, who isn't even one the top teams. Why would anyone want to win the division with an 8-8 or 7-9 record. The Super Bowl is supposed to be for SUPER teams, neither of which are the Slackers or the Vikings. My vote is at this point, just keep losing, take a top draft pick and either keep him or trade him for a few good players and start rebuilding for next year.Dave

Only losers hope for their teams to lose. A couple of years ago we were 3-10 and in the drivers seat for a top 3 pick, but we won out, and every body who really gives a damn for this team cheered their a$ses off when we went for two against N.O. and got it and when Old Man Mort hit a 54-yarder to knock the Dolphins out of the playoffs.
Cheering for losses is for losers ... plain and simple.

Amen midgensa. Now if at the end of the season, you're happier being 3-13 compared with 5-11 maybe I can understand that but going into each game, especially againt your biggest rival, you better be cheering for the purple. Cheering for the packers under any circumstances is a sin but especially unforgiveable against the vikes relatively early in the season.

Right now, I could care less about the where we end up in the NFL draft order, I just want to win. I want something to happen that will turn this team and this season around. Maybe it takes a player that no one expects to step up, put this team on his shoulders and give us an emotional charge.

Hoping your team loses just to get a higher draft pick next year? That's laughable. 1) a top 5 pick doesn't guarantee you anything (except a nightmare negotiating a contract), and 2) rooting against your own team, especially against the Packers, is grounds for public flogging in my opinion. I may cuss and scream at them when they play poorly, but I bleed purple.

I can't believe some of the post I'm reading...

Yes we are 1-4, but thats not the end of the season.....

I remember (correct me if wrong) a couple years back, the Patriots started 0-4 and came back to win the Super Bowl that year..

I'm not saying we will win the Super Bowl for sure, but I will say our season is far from over with, and beating the Pack this week would be a great time to start saving our season...

We all bleed purple, and that is why we all cheer whether we are 2-10 or 10-2!
See you are from Cincy, did you go to the debacle of a game? I was there with my bro who is a huge Bengals fan. We drove eight hours to get there and he was kind enough not speak of it when we drove eight hours back.

Yoah now you are off your rocker! I think the worst any team has started and won the Super Bowl is 0-2. In their S.B. years the Pats started 1-3, 2-2 and 4-0. Funny that the year they didnt win they started 3-0 before losing 4 in a row.

By the way, we will definitely be the first team to start 1-4 and win the Super Bowl. Definitely!

Yeah I was there Midgensa, sitting on the front row down by the goal line, wearing my Vikings jersey, and experiencing one of the most humiliating days of my life as a Vikings fan. I will say this, however, the Bengals fans were actually consoling me after that game. I guess all those years of misery they experienced (Bengals fans) made them sympathetic to our plight.

If it makes you feel better finishing the season at 2-14 rather than 1-15,then so be it.I'm thinking about the Packers finishing 2-14 and the Vikes finishing 3-13.Pack drafts Reggie Bush and we get watch Reggie run through the our mighty D for the next ten years.Rembering that big win back in 05 against the Pack is not going to make me feel any better.Like it or not it's time to start thinking about next year.Play some of these guys who are riding the bench now and see if their any good.If they aren't than get rid of them and replace them during the off season. The Vikes have holes in almost every position now.I don't know how they did it,but the Defense is even worse this year and the Offense is non existent. It's going to take more than a top draft pic to right this ship, but it's a good start.

It's been a long couple of weeks to be a Viking Fan...but you have to agree with me on this, nothing would make all of us happier the seeing the Vikings whip the Packers @ss this week.

At least for 1 week - we would be grinning from ear to ear, able to forget about everything that has gone wrong.

Reggie Bush is smallish, but he is pretty good, I'd rather win then lose and pick up a back that will get snapped into smithereens! I for one would like to see C4 get some carries, no one has even mentioned him, MB should keep his jiggly but on the bench, give the young guy a chance!!!

Cheers!

All of your posts sum up your screenname, xvikingfan. Good riddance we don't need your bandwagon jumpin' @$$ rootin' for our team anyways! Go cheer for the cheesedicks since they'll get your God of a player Reggie Bush.

It was actually Gary Anderson that hit that 54 yarder with 17 seconds left! I was at that game and it was awesome!!!

Um I would rather be 2 wins than one. Besides the fact that that's impossible because we do play Green Bay again this season.
