Eventhough I have not lost all hopes as of this point, I must say that I am officially changing my 11-5 prediction for the year to 7-9. Be honest and give me your new prediction for this season.

Well my original prediction was 13-3 and really after week two there is almost no shot in hell that this will happen. I will now change to 10-6! I would be very happy with a 10-6 record after the first two weeks. The record could easily go to 2-14 however if we don't figure something out quickly. Of course the 2 games that we win in the second scenario are thanks to our friends in puke green and Yellow!

10-6 would win the division easily and guarentee us a spot in the playoffs. I would love to go 10-6 but I truely don't see it happening with that loser Steve Loney calling the plays.

I didn't have a previous prediction. I missed that thread. How would one post an unhonest prediction? Mine is 12 and 4. Silly? Yes. Am I an optimist? Yes. Its my nature, and, I choose not to be a pessimist. Prognostication is at worst or best a very inexact science. I think, now that they have scored, Pep will drop the jinx, and own like last year. The talent is there, a little confidence, and we have paydirt.

Hmmm, I will try an unhonest second prediction. 6 and 9. The pack, steelers, ravens own us. Tice is canned and....bah, scratch that. That isn't fun. I will stick with 12 and 4.

5-11 if Tice stays....Maybe 9-7 if Zygi got somebody out of retirement that wouldn't mind taking over, and heard of such a thing called game planning and game management! But if we win the Saints game who knows....Daunte has to pull his head out and help Loney pull his......Can you imagine this team with the number one pick in the draft or top three.....Oh i don't want to imagine. With the first pick in the 2006 NFL Draft the Minnesota Vikings select.................Laurence Maroney running back University of Minnesota. Then again........No No No too many negative thoughts.....Sorry just so pissed and embarrassed after today...........Go Vikes.

I seriously think that our offense couldn't beat the Gophers defense. So, unless we play a team that is catastrophically terrrible, I think we just might pull off that 0-16 record the Bucs have been waiting for.
Honestly, though, I think the Vikes could win one against green bay and one against detroilet. Thats 2-14, so start looking out for next year's draft outlook, in which the Vikes will fall 3 spots and take some overrated lineman.

Some more predictions

Culpepper 12TDs, 34INTS
Bennett, Moore, Fason, Williams 675yds combined
Our savior, Nate Burleson 32 catches, 1 TD
Williamson 40 catches, 5 TD from Brad Johnson

28th ranked offense
31st ranked defense
1st non sellout game since 97 (I don't know anyone amped about buying tickets now)

All players that came to play here because of Pep will demand trades, hold out or retire.

OKAY now that i've vented, hopefully 7-9 and bye bye to Tice and Co, including Cotrell who blows goats as far as converages. Why was anyone optimistic in signing him from the Jets who were ranked 23rd when they fired him? AND hopefully Tice and Loney go broke and move in together in a refridgerator box in Frogtown. RIP 2005 season. Go Wild.

It depends on which whick week we decide to spend a 2nd rounder on Ricky Williams.

Guess he did say be honest. Ask an optimist for honest prognostication, you get it. Pessimistic prognostication is the same. I wonder if Nostrodamus would see the twin cities in flames, with destruction all around. Likely, he was a cheery guy too. OHHHH, that bear from the North, no....it couldn't be. I thought he was talking about Russia.

If we went 10-6 this year I would be happy with the way things are going recently. I figured we would struggle a bit on offense, but not nothing nearly as pathetic/embarassing as this.

My prediction is I really don't give a shit where we end up. If we are a better football team by the time the season ends then we were when it started I will be happy.

I would rather watch a poorly played Vikings game then baseball. I'm glad it is back, I'm not going to worry about records. I'm going to enjoy finally being able to watch some football. If you piss an moan all season your going to look up and see it is over, then that offseason talk that is so incredibly unrealistic and offbase will begin........

Glad it is back, and as long as we can improve as a team I am satisfied.

Culpepper will have a big turn around.

10-6.

Let me say before hand, nobody and i'm mean nobody knows anything with any certainty till at Least week #5 in the NFL ... That's when things begin to shake out. You see it every year ... teams 2-0 then go to 2-4; teams 0-2 got to 3-2 ... ya just never know as it's tooo damn early in the season.

Now, onto the topic ... these are IMHO predictions so far:

Buc's : loss
Bengals: loss
Saints: win (but close)
Falcons: loss
** Bye WEEK ... Thank GOD ***
Bears: win (we are always good out of the bye week)
Pack: win
Panthers: loss
Lions: win
Giants: win
Pack: win
Browns: win
Lions: loss (we always give a game away)
Rams: win
Steelers: loss
Ravens: win
Bears: win

** Now again, this is after week #2 and what we have seen soo far ... i was really generous to us against our divisonal foes and ignoring the trend of us "Giving" away games to them every year **

Let me count it up: 10-6 ??? Wow, if that comes true, I will be more than happy with that right now considering everything.

old predictions:

11-5, beat GB 2x, Burleson with over 1000 yards... defense ranked in top 10... 1st in division. i think those were my predictions if i remember correctly.

new predictions:

7-9 or at best 8-8. Taylor will have more yards.

Defense: 24th
Offense: 18th, i still have hope Culp can turn it around a little bit.

2nd in division.

Tice never coaches in the NFL again.

i think we will be top 10 in Run Defense and 29th in Run Offense... a little glimmer of optimism for our run D.

He'll coach , just not a head coach .... offensive line is his specialty, he just doesn't have the experience to be a head coach. Read it before, he should have been an "O" coordinater before he got to be a head coach ... but Red was "on the cheap" and grabbed the cheapest he could find.... I have full belief in Wilfi straightening this all out ... to bad the season could be lost before he can doing anything to right the ship

If we continue to play the way we have 0-16.

I'd still think we're capable of turning it around, though, I'd like to see a 10 win season. The last 4 years (w/ the exception of the playoff win at Lambeau) have been hard for Vikings fans.

ShanePurpleBlood
09-19-2005, 05:32 PM
I was thinking 12-4. If we play like the first two weeks, then we will have a top 5 draft pick (4-12), maybe picking Reggie Bush? I still believe we can turn it around and go 9-7.

cajunvike

14-2

Vikings totally turn it around this week...take some magic pills...Melvin Fowler becomes Matt Birk Reincarnated...Marcus Johnson becomes a slimmed down version of Dave Dixon...the rest of the line plays like All-Pros...and Daunte does not throw another INT all year!

OK, I am definitely dreaming...but don't wake me until the end of the season...that way, at least I don't have to witness more of what has happened the last two weeks!!!

C'mon Vikes!!!! You guys can do it!!!

What a horrible game that would be if both teams continue to play the way they are playing.

Realistically? Maybe .500 But that might just be good enough to take the division. Unless these magic pills come into play...

8-8, maybe 9-7 at best. That is if we get our acts together and play like the team we should be. If not, we will go 5-11.

whackthepack
09-19-2005, 08:04 PM
I think we come together, that we will start to improve, and that the Lions, Bears & Greenbay are not good teams will help us win the North and we will be tin the playoffs. I think we finish 10-6 and are playing well when the playoff start.

Remember we are 0-2 the same record as the Raiders and Green Bay, the difference is they have played as well as they can, and we have not. So when we start to play better I would rather have our team.
