Rashard Lee....

No link just heard about it from another message board. Anyone know about this guy? I think he will be our return man but for some reason his name isnt ringing a bell for me.

This might be BS, but not 100% SURE.

Here's something on him. Not to sure if we signed him. Watch out for other things posted on boards.

I remember him playing for Dallas last year...couldn't root for him then. He played in the Sun Belt Conference against my Ragin' Cajuns for a pretty good Middle Tennessee State team. If he can improve our return game, then it might be a good scoop for the Vikes! Let's hope so!!!

I remember this guy when the Vikes played Dallas in week 1. Eddie George was ineffective and I think they went to Andersen who was hurt or something. Then came in Lee... and he started ripping it up.

"ReShard Lee, a reserve from Middle Tennessee State appearing in his first NFL regular-season game, was almost solely responsible for Dallas' second touchdown. He returned a kickoff 62 yards and ran four times for 31 yards, the last a 7-yard rumble off left guard to cut Minnesota's lead to 21-17 early in the third quarter."

First I heard of him... and the last until today.

was that him or our great run D? (thick sarcasm)

"The Bills have released RB ReShard Lee. He was beaten out for a roster spot by RBs Shaud Williams and Lionel Gates.
(Updated 08/29/2005)."

Beaten out by who and who? Not too excited about the pick up, maybe challenge for return duties?

After digging up info on him, he is a 2nd year player that was primarily used as a kick off returner. He posted better stats than both our primary return guys from last season. Maybe with M. Moore being the #1 or #2 RB, the Viking didn't like what they saw at KR depth?

2004 KR stats I pulled from cbssports:

Kelly Campbell: 35 attempts for 760 yds, 21.7 average (2 ret over 40+)
M. Moore : 20 attempts for 386 yds, 19.3 average (0 ret over 40+)
Rashard Lee : 41 attempts for 964 yds, 23.5 average (3 ret over 40+)

i agree, get howry out, i would be upset if the vikes let go of hoag especially with his team first mentality ala chris walsh. anyone can do better than howry.

Lee is an insurance policy with our frail backs and will likely be our kick returner most of the season

i like hoag more then howry but hoag needs to get lower on KR's

I think this Rashard guy can make a difference for us.. Better kick returner then we have.. And he is a decent HB, so he can backup our fragile HB's

You are all assuming that he's going to make the team. I wouldn't be so sure. I think they probably signed him as insurance for the upcoming game against the Seahawks with Moore and Bennett out, and they'll probably cut him before the final rosters are made, but he might make the practice roster. As for who they got rid of, probably nobody. Birk was just moved to the IR today, so that would make one roster spot.

Hey, maybe I'm wrong. He might turn out to be a good returner.
