I dont know. It depends how we would do in the next 15 years if we werent gonna win the superbowl.

Wow, ummmmmmmmm. maybe I would because I really want to see the group of guys that we have now win a superbowl.

I would have to say that it would be great to have a SB victory, We survived the Les year and the Burns era, we gave the Cowboys a couple with the Walker deal..... I would (and have) still be a fan.... It might be tougher to keep my kids interested....

i think i would take the superbowl but this is like selling ur soul for it so instead of the guaranteed championship i would rather work for it then sell my soul it makes u feel better when u accomplish what you want

15 years is a bit much, and the puker fans would be rubbing it in your face season after season.

I have been a fan for over 30 years...with this kind of deal, we would have TWO Super Bowl trophies already...I would have taken that deal back then too!

Well if it was a done deal and we could all lay a couple hundred on it, who would care if we didnt win diddly for the next fifteen?
Party ON!
Are we going to win again in fifteen years?

I dont know. That is still a tough call.

I think I'd take it. 15 years would be worth just ONE offseason of bragging rights and a Super Bowl trophy.

For a SB Victory I wouldn't mind watching the "Lions" for 15 years.

I'd just tape every game of the SB season and play them on sundays over and over again, for 15 years after. It's like winning 15 straight.

Whats the whole point of being mediocre (sp) if you don't win the Super Bowl?

Is it better to have a team they may have a winning record but never win it, or a team that has one under their belt?

But we could still have a shot at winning it in each of those 15 years though right, if we didn't take the SB?

I trust the comittment of our new owners, that I would expect to win at least 1 in those 15 years. I don't think I would do it. Still not sure though.

I was kinda assuming that we would not.

With this new information just handed over, I say no to the SB if we would suck for 15 years and take our chances at getting one in that span.

We have not won any since I was born either?

Either way, you are going to toss out an arguement no matter what answer we give.

When we do win one all the pain, misery, and suicidal thoughts will just make that win that much better!

I don't know, that's a tough one to choose...

If it's gotta be 1-15 and 2-14 seasons, I would have to say no. After all, what's more pathetic than *certain fans* of *certain sinking teams* bragging year after year that the fact that their team is going downhill doesn't matter because "at least we have a Super Bowl trophy" from decades ago. I think you all hear what I'm saying!

bckNblck

at least we would have fun on draft days....

TroyWilliamson
07-12-2005, 05:56 AM
That's true we would almost always get the first pick with 1-15 or 2-16.

bckNblck

but think of this.. would you take a superbowl win if you knew the packers would win the next 3?!?

ItalianStallion

Somebody ask the Bucs fans if winning that superbowl is worth going 1-15, 2-14 or whatever for the next 13 years. I'm guessing most would say no.

I'll take my chances at winning in the next 15 years, i'm betting we'll win at least one.

But they have a trophy...and we still don't! That sucks big time...so I still stand by my answer. I will use the Yankees as an example: From 1981 to 1995, they pretty much sucked....but those 4 World Series from 1996 to 2000 were so worth it! I would feel the same about the Vikes that I felt about the Yankees...just as long as the Red SUX don't win anymore, I would be fine with the Yankees not winning the World Series for awhile...we can let the Twins have a few more! So just as long as the Pack didn't get any Super Bowl trophies, I could live with 15 years of sucking to get a Super Bowl trophy!

DemonicViking

I wanna see Minnesota get a trophy, obviously, but 15 years of losing? I don't know, it'd be kinda hard to enjoy the football season and look foward to the next one.

Anyway, forget losing, and think dynasty, if we win one I only hope we'd remain strong after that and do what the Pats have done.

I'm gonna have to go with a no.

The not knowing how you are going to get on every week is what makes the game so good.

I don't think i could watch 15 seasons knowing we are only going to win 1 or 2 games per year

I guess I'm the only one who likes watching my favorite team play competitive football. I would kill myself if the vikings took an Arizona Cardinals-like slide in prestige.

MountainVike
07-13-2005, 01:52 AM
As a player, I would choose to win it all once. As a fan, I would rather that the team be competitive every year than win it all just once, then suck for a decade. It's the ups and downs, close games, and hope that "this year will be the one" that keeps us in our seats and writing on this website every year. If we were the 49ers, who would care? Yeah...so you won a few Super Bowls before, but you have no hope of even being competitive this year. That's boring to a fan.

VKG4LFE
07-13-2005, 01:54 AM
I guess I would take it for a superbowl win!! I loved it when the vikes went to the playoffs every year, but it killed me when they would get beat out in the wild card or the divisional round. A Superbowl win would remedy any past heartbreaks for me!!

midgensa
07-13-2005, 03:21 AM
No way I would take it. Being competitive year in and year out can be frustrating when you don't get there, but my brother is a Bengals fan and I have seen the way you become when your team is NEVER competitive, you stop watching or caring about football and just hope that one day they will be competitive again ...

VKG4LFE
07-13-2005, 03:42 AM
I could care less how good my team is, I am still going to watch every single game! My @ss isn't falling off the bandwagon! Sure I get pissed at a loss, but I will be there the next week sitting right in front of the tv hoping for a W!

DaunteHOF
07-13-2005, 05:31 PM
If it was like the best year ever, like we shut everyone down, scored 30 a game and demolished the competition in the SB then yeah I would take the 1 SB victory.

Would? Lyrics

Know me broken by my master
Teach thee on child of love hereafter

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
Try to see it once my way

Drifting body it's sole desertion
Flying not yet quite the notion

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
Try to see it once my way

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
Try to see it once my way

Am I wrong?
Have I run too far to get home?
Have I gone?
And left you here alone?
If I would, could you?

I wouldn't do it for the simple reasoning of I would hate to watch a game, when I all ready know the outcome.

I have never had a problem with watching the Vikes lose season after season, because I know there is always hope. If I knew we were gonna with the super bowl, I wouldn't even watch it. What fun is that? And I certainly wouldn't watch for the next 15 years...

The SB would be nice, but I don't think I could take 15 years of being worse then the pack, assuming they can win 3 or more wins, each of those 15 years, which is a big assumption.
