Cheap-ass former Vikings owner Red McCombs predictably has stuck Zygi Wilf with the tab (http://www.startribune.com/stories/507/5425995.html) for the signing bonuses from the team's offseason spending spree.

As well as overcharging him for the team in the first place!

good article... gives a sense of hope to the fans... who really cares who pays the bonuses... i always figured Red did what he did in FA to that anyway.

From the article, it looks like they are starting off on the right foot...let's hope that is a harbinger for good things to come.

I liked this quote in the article:

"I'm more interested in making this franchise the best team on the field; economics is secondary."

A little different mindset than Redneck had. The Vikes will be back.

Under Red he didn't even have to worry about it; only staying above the minimum.

I sorta knew this was happening. I just couldn't see Red spending all that money on players that weren't gonna play for him.

From the article, it looks more and more like Zygi is gonna be a much better owner.

Why else do you think they made all of our new free agents defer their signing bonuses till June and July?
This is the main reason why we missed out on that skins L.B.(cant remember his name)he said to hell with that and went to the NYG.

Antoine Pierce.

Yeh, none of this should be a surprise to anyone that follows the team.

According to the local news (T.C. area) Zygi was involved in the decision to trade Moss. Red's price dropped from $650M to $600M. I'd bet there was also an agreement in place on who'd pay the signing bonuses for the free agents.

True...but there were alot of teams worse than the vikings, and yet we were the only team 36 million under the cap.
